Google vs. Overture Algo

Why such different results?

I realize that Google and Overture use completely different algos for calculating SERPs. I have one keyword though that is #4 on Overture and #136 on Google. That seems like such an incredible discrepancy that something almost must be wrong. Are there really 130 sites that rank higher than mine in PR and that causes my ranking to drop in Google? I could see #10 vs. maybe #35 but 130 positions different seems like one must be correct and the other completely wrong. Is it just me? :) Why such strange results? Thanks,

AL.

Al,

Overture use a modified verison of Inktomi (real weird algo), not sure whether you are aware that hardly anyone actually uses "overture" itself, the listings are purely as a backfill for their PPC service.

I would not let your question bother you in the slightes.

all engines/algos are different, and unless optimised for will always have different results.

Yeah, I suppose that's true. I won't let it bother me. Thanks Shak,
