If Adwords links are not considered as LINKS by Google

Why is this happening?

Hi,

I would like to discuss the following:

I used referrer=adwords in Google adwords to separate visitors from Adwords & Google search but removed it afterwards.

After the April deepcrawl, one of the listings I get if searched for "allinurl:www.mysite.com" shows

[mysite.com...] boot_camp.htm%3Freferrer%3Dadwords

I am not providing the full URL as per the rules.

This is link through adwords. So I understand that adwords links do matter sometimes.

Any comments?

Regards

If someone else has a link to this page, wouldn't this mean: adwords links don't matter? One never knows ... can you track the referers from your log files to see if somebody out there links to you using the adwords link?

Did your ad get spidered on a site running the new Adwords-based content ads?

Yes, I used the 12 days trial for content ads in March.

But I do not understand how an ad from Google Adwords appearing on content sites be crawled by Google.

As discussed in previous post,

[webmasterworld.com...]

>> From my understanding no PPC ads/links will count towards any "real" search engine. They may get you the top(sponsored) listing in the SERPS, but not an actual top ranked page based on the search engine algorithm.

and

>> If you think about it, how could AdWords give you link popularity? Google's ads are mainly shown on sarch engines, and in general search engines don't index other search engines - especially one of the size of Google. It would mean they would waste loads of time indexing a 'catalog' of the web (including google's cached copy of all the pages!), rather than actual pages. And all the indexes would have the same pages.

But AFAIK the main reason AdWords don't give you link popularity is because they are not direct links to your site. They in fact link to something like

[google.com...]

So, how is it possible for google to crawl these ads?
