Such as,
a) how does Google deal with intelligence and law enforcement agencies, when it has the most valuable intel asset in the world;
a) Why would they have to deal with them at all? Far more creepy is IBM's Almaden Research Center. If you want to dig for skeletons - help yourself - no one else has been able to peirce the ivory tower of ibm.
b) What is its policy regarding the sale of privileged and immensely valuable information to private companies;
With Whom Does Google Share Information? [google.com]
c) Why does it rig PageRank, by accident or design, to conceal pejorative search terms about itself;
We can only guess what that's about. Been talking to Everyman? (tip, he's the second result past the google tld's under google). How's that for concealing? They list their #1 nemesis without obfuscation. Even ahead of their own cash cow AdWords.
d) why is it so keen for bloggers to influence, and thus discredit its trademarked PageRank algorithms;
Because bloggers are the only honest linkers left on the web.
I noticed that it is an 800+ word article of Andrews - there is but 1 link. Interesting that link is to the real story.
e) how come the slippery News exercise leaves so many of you - both as punters and marketing folk - feeling cheated;
Say what?
and finally, f) why is it so secretive about points a) to e) above?
For any company at the top of it's game, the challenge is not to do something brilliant, it is to keep from doing something stupid [home.millsaps.edu].
But for this glimpse into the Google founders nerdvania, this Teletubby, primary-color world, we send thanks to the Times - we are truly grateful. We've learnt alot.
