I have read these articles on Search Engine World
[searchengineworld.com...]
And
[searchengineworld.com...]

Can anyone give me any comments on how if any of this has changed since it was written back in March-19-2001?

Also if anyone could give me a few more examples of this using widgets (or what ever term you like) I would greatly appreciate it. What would really be great to see is a theme of say 3 departments in a company not really having a lot to do with each other. (widgets division - wadgets division - wodgets division) Thank you

re themed pyramid

It's my current experience that INK seems to love them, and for whatever reason (certainly not entirely because of the structure itself), Google will treat them well. Whenever possible, I do purposely short-circuit the path to the money pages with a few direct links or even an additional/alternate site nav system.

I tried to describe theme pyramids and Google [webmasterworld.com] about a year ago. Re-reading it now, I can't honestly agree with the part about multiple domain strategies not having any affect (though the PR penalty risk outweighs the benefits IMO).

I agree with RC, short-circuiting to the important pages is very worthwhile.
