I was wondering im new to this but google has 2 caches for one of my websites each of the pages from the root of this site has firstly a cache thats over a month old an secondly one cache thats updated almost everyday, does anyone now why this is happening does this mean google will eventually stop updating my pages everyday.

ok, I dont know what you mean by 'a secondary cache' but what it sounds like is that the freshbot is coming to your site and caching the page and (as is usual with google) the cache dissapears every now and then, but is then replaced by a new freshbot cache only to dissapear again. This happens to everyone, and it depends on how often you update your page and which server google is routing you to when you search :)

Hope that helps

Hi Mark, welcome to WebmasterWorld :)
Not sure I understand what you mean. It is common for Google to visit on a daily basis and you should be happy for that. But, if you mean that you have two identical pages in Google's cache for each of your files, then it might be a little worrying. In cases where a site uses session-IDs it is common for Google to index the same page over and over again.
Would you please elaborate a little more.

Ok I have 2 caches for each 6 of my webpages, under the specific root, they are different caches of the identical webpages does that help?

One version of the cache comes up when i enter the url of the page into the google search, This version is the old cache.

The another version of the cache is shown if I enter key words. This is the one that is updated frequently.

Thanks for your replies and welcoming.

The cached page you are seeing when you put the path into google is the one that has been indexed by google in the previous update, yet the one people see when they search the keywords sounds like it is using the freshbot results...

Or its just google routing your request to a different server for the different requests, and that still involves freshbot ;)

Alright, do this: allinurl:www.yoursite.com and see what you get. That is Google's current collection of pages from your site. None of the pages you get should be doubles. That's the most important. If one page appears twice there, then we must dig deeper. Be aware that the Google update for April might still be on so you should try this again in about a week or so.
