I'm somewhat bothered by my placement for all my major terms. I've fallen back down the list a reasonable amount on all of them, yet I have more backlinks this month (up from 324 to 368).

Are the results on www3 old results or the new ones?

www2 and www3 appear to be the new version of the index.

Looks like the algo changed to give higher weight to higher weighted keyword pages.

I'm seeing pages in the number 1 spot using tactics from several years ago!

Keyword shotgun approach! Plaster keywords all over the page and bingo, your number one!

While my ranks did well, I’m really disappointed with this dance. No action on blatant easily detected spam, and reverting back to keyword weight ranking that will give rise to some pretty ugly looking pages.

Looks like I lost about 90% of my back links. From 303 to about 33. Most of the ones in the previous index were from myself so I am not suprised. Is this just random or could it be a penalty?

I'm not sure what I'm seeing at the moment.

Last month our category was strictly backlink ranked. Now it seems to have changed as I now have more links than someone 3 places higher but he's still higher than me.

Hmm, strange. Some of the spammers though have been hammered and thats welcome news.

I too have noticed strange results. In one of my most important keywords, I've moved from 6 to 5, which is great. But No.1 and No.4 have come from nowhere and appear to be nothing more than URLs which re-direct to an affiliate vendor's sales page. One of these 'sites' doesn't even have a name, page title or description. I checked its backlinks expecting there to be thousands, but no, there were only a handful. My glee at progressing upwards has been a little tempered by being 'beaten' by two very dodgy sites.

Oh and for more entertainment. The index for my target category is different between www2 www3 and www-ex, yet my backlink # is the same in all of them. My backlinks are 64 fewer in www1 so I'd expect the index to be different.

Waiting for the dust to settle....
