Do Google Answers Count Towards Inbound Links?

Hi,

I noticed a few weeks back that a researcher on Google Answers had responded to a question relating directly to our site's area of expertise. Along with a number of other links, we were cited twice in the response, with links for each citation to a different page on our site. The page indicates that the response went live in late Feb.

Yet, when I'm looking in www3.google.com, I don't see any indication that this (PR8!) link is being credited to our inbound links total. Doesn't Google count links from Google Answers responses?

Also: while browsing the new index results, I've noticed that my description tags seem to have been ignored by Google. Why might this be? The code seems fine. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Daniel

Hi danielius, and welcome to webmasterworld :)

answers.google.com have banned search engines from indexing answer pages with robots.txt:

User-Agent: *
Disallow: /answers/main?cmd=search&q=

So until this is changed, these links will never be even visited by search engine spiders.
