Just noticed something interesting when checking a keyword:
The description Google displays is older than the cached version of my page (i checked this on www2 BTW).
I always assumed that the process would work like this:
Google crawls site.
Google saves cached version.
Google uses data from cache to base rankings, listings and description on.
From what Ive seen today, this is not true.
I would seem that ranking and the page cache version are derived from the information on the current cached version.
Whereas the description is taken from older data (I cant be sure, but the description is at least 3 or 4 weeks old - possibly as much as 2 or 3 months).
I don't think it's particularly important or if it's just a one off occurance or bug, but I just thought I would mention it to see if anyone has any thoughts on it.

The cached version is up to date on WWW2, and I assume the ranking is a reflection of that version (as it is an improvement on last month).
But the description is old.
So will that come from data centre x, where cached version and ranking are from data centre y?
