I have been told that a banner link or a graphical link, dose not count as a link to your page. Therefore not helping your pr ranking is this true?

Banner/graphical links do count as far as I know, as long as it is a direct link and not some ad tracker link.

I would agree with Marcs that Banner/graphical links do count. Have gotten rid of my ad servers and go with the direct links. I also ALWAYS put a prominent Alt tag on all graphics. Seems logical that Google will take a look.....
