There is no doubt that the most important thing for all webmasters is the GOOGLE UPDATE!
Around the 25th of every month we all get the update gitters - for very good reason. We have no idea what new algo will take effect and no idea whether we will even be included. This I have to say is a very disturbing thought!
The gitters in the past have been for more or less 5 days beacsue the upadte for the last 2 years has generally been around the end of the month. During these days my moods are badly affected, I have sleep problems, and my productivity level drops significantly. This is normal after all my livelyhood is determined by the next update - so how the hell can I not let this affect me. Its impossible!
Heres my problem - I have now had the gitters for over 2 weeks as the update is late and now I am not even sure that it will happen this month. If it happens today then will there be another one at the end of the month? If there is no consistancy and no FACTS these gitters may never go away?
What I am trying to say here is that if Google could give us somekind of indication it will make all of our lives a lot less stressful. Whats the big secret about when the update will occurr? If they told us - what harm would be done? All that it will do is RELIEVE us of unnecssary extended stressful periods.
Bottomline - the update has become the one really crucial factor in all of our lives. It is not fair to say that GOOGLE has NO responsibilty to webmasters and that they can do whatever they please whenever they want!
Googleguy does this not make sense?
nervous, trust me on this, you need to get your priorities back in line :)
Have a look at this thread;

And by the way, all you calm people out there leave us worriers alone! This index is the most important one we have ever had due to the number of changes we have made to our sites during the last deep crawl. Just because you don't have to worry about your 5-page-family-photo site doesn't mean the rest of us should keep quiet.

Think before you post internetheaven, and about what you imply.
You may or may not have noticed that most of the experienced and senior members of WW don't get all excitable before the update and post endlessly about 'when is the update?' 'is this the update?' etc etc. and if you think they're calm because their sites aren't important or are "5-page-family-photo site[s]" then you need to think again.
If you worked hard for your site then you should be rewarded when the update comes. So why get worked up about it? Ever heard that patience is a virtue?
Anyone else seeing anything similar?
And there are some coffee granules at the bottom of my mug that look to be spelling out 6pm UTC..
Surely not a coincidence?

keeping the old dears happy.
p.s. I can't wait to get all the "you anti-Google nazi, show me you swastika" replies.
