Hi shaadi,

I can't see any difference!
Checked first URL - Results 1 - 8 of about 14. Search took 0.09 seconds
Second - Results 1 - 8 of about 14. Search took 0.22 seconds

What should i be looking for?

[added]Ok when omitting the www the results returned are the same for other sites, is this correct?[/added]

The only difference I see on the surface is one lacks the 'WWW'.

He's talking about the "http:/"

I've seen that on a related site search for my site too. It must be a bug.

Interesting - does indeed look like a bug. (ck your sm pedanticist)

Ya, I'd report that one to Google.

Is there a pattern to it?

I've run into it on several searches.

The things that happen are:

1) massive drop in traffic
2) zero backlinks
3) cache did'nt get updated
4) PR of internal links is 6 while of homepage is 3
5) Affiliate links getting high rankings than the homepage

Is this because of this (this bug)? how can one correct it?

Can anyone explain the below results of various searches in Google? I noticed this a few weeks ago.

Paste each one of these in the search box and see what happens:

www.freeuk.com/dgstrange -- you get no results.

freeuk.com/dgstrange -- you get no results.

www,freeuk.com/dgstrange -- you get 4 results.

Why does a comma after www instead of a dot make this difference?

What other silly typos in a URL bring up strange results?

Shaadi, I responded to you in another thread also on the same lines
1st of the all, this bug is not affecting your PR, or your ranking. This is something to do with Google's results display and is not isolated to your site.
You are facing problems 1-5 cause all your links are coming via affiliates, and you have very few direct links to your homepage. Thus:
1. Your affiliate version of your homepage has a good PR
2. You internal pages are feeding off the PR of your affiliate page which they are children and grandchildren of.
3. You homepage, cause it has no (or little) links coming to it from external sites has a low PR
4. Your affiliate links don't contain your keywords in their anchor text, thus you don't rank well for those

btw, nice site

Thanks!
