hello
i have found a good expired domain with a very good linkpopularity.
i know google removes all expired domains from their database.

but if the domain has good link popularity how can i get the google bot to index it again.
how does it work?
is the domain banned for good?

Google just removes pages that don't exist AFAIK, an expired domain would therefore be removed because no pages on it exist anymore.

Personally I'd say forget it and build up a quality site on a domain of your choosing for it's name relevant to your project. The PR benefit is only going to stay as long as the Webmasters of the sites passing the PR on don't notice the site is now under new ownership anyway.

Taking on the domain would only be a quick fix, you need a long term strategy to getting good rankings, not a quick fix high PR domain.

Cheers,
Nigel

My personal experience with several expired domains that I ran for a couple of updates is that Google does more than just remove the page. Several of these "expired domains" were revived by me, held good PR then PR0 with this update. Yes - links were technically still coming in from the original domains which provided the PR but something in the algo showed these links were "pre-expired domain" links and knocked them out. Several other domains, previously expired which I continued to build fresh, new link popularity seemed to have survied but with less PR, obviously not benefitting from the "pre-expired domain" links. It is outstanding how the Google brains can come up with these computations/programming but it stinks for those of us trying to cheat the system... I now preach - try to build new sites with real, honest links coming in and you will do well.
