I have a large directory site that has 1000s of outgoing links. I used to run them all through a cgi redirect simply to be able to log the referal traffik. Until one of my customer asked what PR linkage he would get for subscribing.

So for now I've turned them all into proper links, as the PR was leaked either way.

What does google do to CGI redirects? Apache treats them as tempoarry 302 redirects. Does Google follow them? what happens to the PR?

Is one possible way to make the links google followable AND logable by creatign standard HREF="url" links with a javascript onclick that loads a hidden page for the logging?

liek this:
<a href="http://www.externallink.com" onclick="javascript:loadPageIntoHiddenIFrame">
