I have 100 links pointing to www.domain.com, when you type in the url www.domain.com you end up at www.domain.com/default.aspx. will the default.aspx get the page rank from all the links?

yes - whatever the default load is set to, however it also must be in root... domain.com/html/index/mainpage.asp could be set as default but PageRank would still reside in root.

Amazon.com is a good example of this -- their PageRank is actually PR9 at root... but their chosen default page is PR3.

Is there any explanation in that case of why my site with 100 or so relevent links from sites with PR4-7 that my homepage only has PR1, could it be that it would be updated in the refresh?

One out of many possible explanations is that your site may be penalized. (provided your site is not new and the 100 links are at least one update old)

And another note: what matters is not the PR of the site but rather the PR of the actual page that contains your link (PR is PageRank not SiteRank)

Maybe you've been penalised.

Maybe Google can't follow your redirection.

If you have 100 links from anywhere, you'd have a pagerank of more than 1 (Probably 5-6).

All of the links to my site are on pages with with good page rank. I can't imagine why I would be penalised as it is a tourism related website that does not employ any dirty SEO tricks, I just dont understand, maybe it will be boosted in the next update...
