Can a Zeal listing help with Google?

I was wondering if a listing in Zeal helps Google find a site faster (similar to other directories like Yahoo and DMOZ).

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

No, it seems Zeal is flagged as a bunch of advertisement since so many of the listings are just paid advertising. It may be some other reason but no, they don't seem to help.

Google has decided not to spider the Looksmart directory. Curious, as they do the Yahoo! directory.

It would heavily favor big advertisers becuase they can buy thousands of listings in Zeal. In addition to non-commercial sites, Zeal serves as the holding tank for all the paid stuff in LookSmart too.

The things you can get away with in Zeal/LookSmart even with non-profit sites would be considered Spam by YAHOO! and ODP.

Fair point skibum. While the Y! directory is mostly about buying PR, at least Y! limits how much any site can buy.
