HI, I'm quite new here I read a lot about optimisation, everflux, PR ranking, spamming, google update (any day now ;) ...

If I understood correctly, www3 or www2 are the first servers to show new results when update start and it can take up some time for the www. to settle down and display the latest results (Is that right or have I already misunderstood).

Then, soon afterwards, there is the deepcrawl (IP 216...) and continuous fresh crawl (IP 64...), that should come to see your little web pages that you cherrish and spend hours (if not days) to optimize.

What I was wondering was, if there was anything to do between the two ... ie if I realize on www2/3 that my page don't rank high enough in my chosen keywords ... what should I do? Change them and wait for the deepcrawl, fingers crossed that my new optimisation works when it settles down in www, or can I check on www2/3 for the new optimisation before it settles on www?

Cheers

Is there no other way of checking in between.

I've got a site for my company and we provide services (around 20-25 pages) I don't see the point of having backlinks from competitors (duh) or other sites (don't know who I could ask to for the link to be relevant)

For Google ranking purposes, the link need not be relevant. If your cousin Kim has a PR8 home page, by all means ask her to link to you.
