top level is pagerank 6, second level is pagerank 6

does that mean i'm close to a pagerank 7?

I have a site whose index.html page is a pagerank 6. All second level pages pages linked to from that main page are also page rank 6. Third level pages are pagerank 5. Does this mean my index.html page is very close to a pagerank 7?

From memory WebmasterWorld had been in an analagous position with PR7 for quite some time - and not made PR8!

So I am not sure that you can read a lot into it.

one of my sites has been PR6 for as long as i can remember. and its been live since prob '98 so its been around. is there any guesstimate as to a certain threshold that it has to pass to get the PR7 .. for example, could this threshold be that its incoming links passes 1,000 links or something of the sort?

Hi,

I have exactly the same situation, PR6 index, PR6 second level, PR 5 third level. I have been adding content every day since January 1st, and I'm hoping too that this month I'll get PR7. If not, the number of level two sections with PR6 will just grow and grow until I have a ludicrously large number - or a PR7. Also I'm hugging the PR7 sites in the directory, there's 20 or so PR6 sites and out of them I'm no 2. These days I'm not even seeking external links, I will at some time, but if Google gives me 2000 backlinks that come from within my own site, I'll get them first. They should in themselves be enough to get me a top ten position, and it means content and link building are done at the same time. I hope you get your PR7 man.

By the way, the No.1 SERP PR8 site for my keyword sells sponsored links on his site for $300 a month. I hear that's a good deal, right?

over and out,

Jeremy
