Hi! I am confused as to what exactly the Google Dance is. I was under the assumption that the Dance occurred once monthly and it was the process of re-ranking all pages according to all the spidering and indexing that had been done that month...to have the new deal for that month's ranking. Now I am seeing our pages' rankings change within a week with updated content. So, what is Google's deal?

I am now wondering if there's any way to know when the deep or main crawl occurs each month...RE: around the 19th or 20th of the month to approximately the 28th...I read in another post from yesterday (25th) that the deep crawl had occurred for this month. Do you know how this is known?

Generally happens shortly after an update. If you have access to your server logs you can identify the deep crawl bot by an ip beginning with 216.
