Why do some sites in the serps have a date next to the URL and some don't?

Everflux of Fresh listings:

However, some Fresh pages do sometimes show up in Serps, but without date.

Thanks, but why are there sites without date? The freshbot didn't visit these sites?

AFAIK, Freshbot can be sniffing around your website trying to find new pages, or a structure for finding new pages, or collecting fresh links (and their dates?).

As far as I remember Googleguy has mentioned that a lot of the Fresh-spidering and indexing is also testing and development.

The Google Serps not showing date stamps generally tend to be already deep-spidered pages of your site, and in some more rare occasions already freshly spidered and indexed content.

Then also there are days when you see no date stamps at all on any serps.
