Is it better to have one way links or two way links to external higher PR site?

Which way do you mean? Are you talking about you linking to them, or them linking to you? And are you talking internal links, or external? oops, owner edit, you said external, but internal is worth addressing as well

I'm not sure there is a definite answer to this, but it seems reasonable to speculate that the best possible link is a one-way link to your page from a higher PR page which has few links on it and is on another domain. This gives the "vote" the maximum independence and weight. However, I think that linking back to the page (two-way) is probably fine too, maybe not quite as much weight but it definitely still counts.

For internal links, you should probably link both ways, both for PR distribution and ease of navigation. I can't stand it when I get to a page and there's no link back and I have to use the back button just to navigate the site, not sure why, but it's annoying, like running into a dead end and having to turn around. Keep the user moving forward through the site whenever possible, even when forward is actually back.

Higher PR site (8) totally independant from me. I wrote a review for them and they published it with link to my website. I was wondering if I should link back to the review or not?

Internal navigation is almost full mesh (all pages linking to all pages) - small site can do it (~25 pages)

What do you think?

cheers
