and fresh tags disappeared a good 10days before the last update. Not a good indicator.

Maybe a regional difference, a question about which datacentre sends your SERPs. Lots of fresh tags in Denmark, but not quite so fresh as they use to be lately: Still 23rd. Anybody seing any 24ths?

> back to the tea leaves

No, no, for one thing there are fresh tags now (at least for me), for another, Brett is right. No update yet. Google seems to play with the fresh tags for obscure reasons of its own. Given the lateness of the deepcrawl, I wouldn't be surprised if the update is late, unless they've managed to throw a lot more FLOPs at the problem.

My freshtags are gone & I have had daily fresh dates from the start of the war until the 23rd. Also no freshbot since 24th & he was hitting me every day as I was updating right after he left. No fresh tags on Google search for "news" either.

I know, this means absolutely nothing, but things seem sleepy around here since the bombs starting flying.

My last fresh tag (23rd) is away, but my competitor still have it. I donīt understand why his 23rd is more fresh than mine.

I'm not sure what is going on with this either. I checked at least a dozen of our sites, and they all lost the (already late) Mar 23 fresh tag that was there this morning.

When I looked at the cache on one of the news sites that I had a date on, it's Mar 22. Fortunately, CNN and many of the 'big guys' are in the same boat, but right now, more than any, I would think Google would want to at least keep our news sites current.

Last month I say them up until just a day or two before the dance started.

Where can I see an example of a fresh tag? I can't say I have seen one. Just tried "Iraq war" but nothing seen in first two serps.

freshbot & fresh tags are back but dated 24th

anallawalla, do a Google search for "news". The date between the page's file size & the cache is the "fresh tag".

fresh tag is NOT an indicator of any uypdate!

Freshtags have been spotted before, during and after the update the last 2 or 3 updates.
