Scenario:

I have several content-related websites with pretty much the same design template, and content may appear similar in some degree to Google. Each of the websites has a few hundred pages and the websites basically correspond to a special country, thus some are in different languages.

Domain Names might look like this:

red-widgets.co.uk
blue-widgets.co.uk
red-widgets.com
...

How could I structure the content, so that Google likes it most?

Here I read, that a dedicated server with its own IP is the best way to go, but I have not been earning a lot of money yet, so I could afford a maximum of one.

If I put all these websites on one dedicated server with the following structure:

IP/red-widgets-co-uk
IP/red-widgets-com
...

and have a DNS redirect for the domain names, would Google like this? Somewhen I read, that Google does not like similar content on pages registered to the same person. Should I rather register the domain names to different people? Or would an other type of redirect be better?

Your help is greatly appreciated!

red-widgets.co.uk

would be a page about red-widgets, in English

blue-widgets.de

would be a page about blue widgets, in German

that is considered Spam?

AFAIK owning more than one site is still allowed.

I don't see any problem per se. Two things to be careful about:
- Don't get into duplicate issues
- Don't get into crosslinking issues.

The sites which are in different languages don't pose any problem at all. Of course you are allowed to have sites on the same topic in different languages. Why shouldn't you?
With the sites in your original language you need to be careful to make the content significantly different. Between those sites don't do too much crosslinking. make sure all sites can stand on their own, have links from outside.

As to the setup: You don't need a dedicated server to do this. A simple shared hosting environment will do.
