Hi hightraffic10.

I currently have around 50, which creates about the same about of blank lines before the actual html content. So far it has not made a slightest bit of difference in any of the SE's.

There was a time developers used to place 100's of blank lines before their HTML content so that it confused the beginner as to where the source resided, again this had no direct impact on listings. So unless things have changed I don’t think this makes the slightest bit of difference :)

Why would any Java code kill me? If the Java code is run on the server it will be invisible to any UA.

If you are talking about client-side JavaScript code then it might be a good idea to put it into a separate file.
