For certain keywords I've been trying to target only my homepage is being indexed. For example, lets say I type in "widgets" Only my home page shows up on about page 5 of google. ie. www.mydomain.com. It doesn't index www.mydomain.com/widgets.html - the page that's been optimized.

My home page isn't nearly as optimized as the individual products pages. I believe if I can get google to index the optimized page I'll rank much higher.

How do I get google to find and index these individual pages?

My site has been indexed - I know this makes a difference.

Joe, I don't know how old you site is, but if it is new, or if it has low pagerank it's possible that Google will only index the home page, since it's considered the most important page. As you develop more inbound links, the other pages will be indexed in future updates.

It's also possible that you got caught up in the latest Google algo change. In this case, interior pages are PR0, and won't show up in the SERPS, even if they're in the index. You might try typing in the optimized URL in the search box, and see if it shows up there. If it does, you might have a penalty. See the following thread for details:

Hello Joe,

Try get people to link to those pages specifically, and try the ol sitemap to help google find your pages
