Disappearing backlinks

This past index I lost all of the backlinks on one of my sites resulting in a PR0. One was a dmoz link and several others are PR4's & 5's.

One of the links is on a major portal site in my niche. I have two sites linked from there, both links are on the same page, right next to each other. Google is showing the backlink for one of my sites, but is not showing the backlink for the other site. I can't understand how it might index it for the one site, yet remove it for the other site.

Can anyone shed any light on why a dozen or so backlinks would completely dissapear from the index and what, if anything, can I do to remedy the situation and prevent this from occuring in the future?

Research the sites that are linking to you, if you cant find the links on the sites email the webmaster and ask if they have been removed or just moved to another page lesser ranked page.

Already have done that. Links are still there on the same pages they were before. All the sites that have dropped are PR5's. One of them is a dmoz listing.

In fact on one of the sites I have links for two sites that I own. One of them is showing on google as a backlink, but one of them is no longer showing.

tfelice,

Another report of the same problem [webmasterworld.com]?

Maybe you can compare notes.
