A little random.

I suspect the linking anchors (and text in proximity of the anchor text) may shed some light into why ranked #1 is #1, and ranked #9 is #9 (and everything in between.

I also think it may be the inbound link text. I am noticing this a lot as in my industry lately. Much talk is made about the lack of importance of a keyword rich domain, but I think it still helps greatly when anchor text is in the ranking equation.

Pizzas : 6 / 10

What, in this context, are pizzas? Does Domino's deliver these?

Exactly what I've been going on and on about for
ages.
But what do I get? "Nah your wrong", "It's not possible", "follow the 12 month plan".

Why? There's clearly a lot of people getting high in SERPS without following 12 month plans, or having tonnes of links all over the shop.

Just trying to find what in the common factor is rather tricky. As these people are clearly getting high in the SERPS without actually planning it! I get the impression that no-one here actually really know, as most people are "12 month plan" type people.

It's the number of pizzas consumed while analyzing the particular site.

Then I think the scale of 0 - 10 needs to be adjusted. Some of us amateurs go through more pizzas than that!

Pizzas : Page of content and information with not really in mind to sell a product, like pages of ; Designer information, Care instructions, Sizing Chart, etc.
75% of thoses sites have only pages of products with no "plus value" for the customers.

Thank you, Allergic. Not an acronym I'd seen here yet.

Its definitely the smiley face votes in the Google toolbar. :)

Since links seem to be the major factor, maybe start with:

- keyword density of pages linking to site #4
- whether or not links to #4 are reciprocated
- what page do links to #4 appear on
(links from another sites homepage could be huge)
- with 4 pages of content, I think it may not be something #4 is doing, but something sites linking to #4 are doing.

Just thinking aloud.
