Google caching question

There seems to caches from many different crawls available.

I have a site that I mainly use to practice coding etc. When the Google update kicked in, Google's SERPS were showing chached pages from over a month ago, none of which exist any more. I figured wait for freshbot and some of the new pages will appear.

Google.com still shows the out of date pages when I search to see what has been indexed, however, it also lists new pages that didn't even exist pre-update, with no fresh tag. Are these chached by the freshbot, or am I seeing something else. If it is freshbot, how come there is no fresh/date tag?
