Yahoo's version of Google

Important observation

I noticed something strange today on Yahoo. Some of my sites which are ranked #1 Google don't show at all on Yahoo. At frist I thought this was to due Yahoo not having the current version of Google, but this was not the case.
I have several sites that use the same glossary each site frames the glossary with it's links and styles. However, 80-90% of the pages' content would be the same. It seems that Yahoo can detect this and it removes the link from its serps. However, it goes even further. I notice a big difference when I do a search
for ' site:domain-name.com "keyword that appears on every page" ' on Yahoo and Google.
On Yahoo less than 1/10 and in some case 1/100 of the pages are showing.
Even worse for me I had a templated intro page for some of my sites with only the city name changed and slightly different links, now these index pages are removed from Yahoo despite their high rankings on Google.

I realize that Yahoo is trying to reduce repeatition and spam but they have gone too far and have removed sites with excellent content.

I noticed something that may have been the case for some time, but google appears to display (up to) 2 results for a site, Yahoo only displays 1 result for a site ... not sure if any relation to what you have seen but interesting difference nonetheless

Actually, at first I thought Yahoo was completely removing the terms. However, if I search for a longer term the pages appear. It is some kind of filter or possibly Yahoo doesn't have the complete index for the major terms.
An example is city real estate (some sites disappear)
where as city real estate agents (the sites are shown)

It is really weird!

NOTE: I'm not referring to the dup listings. The actual site is missing alltogether.

allan do your sites show up at all of the following:

www.google.com
www2.google.com
www3.google.com

and not in yahoo on the same searches?

Of course, I am not an idoit. (though some may disagree :) ) I used to test my ranking from this month and last month. I know exactly where the sites should be. It just happens that they aren't there or even near there. They just don't appear at all for certain search terms which they should appear based on google's www,www2,www3 and last months versions of the three.
