excuse me if this is stale news, but I just noticed that in Mozilla Google is showing all sites linking to a site and not just PR4+. For eg, yahoo links are 1,690,000 whereas in IE they are 642,000.

It is also limiting the no. of links it is showing per site in Mozilla. Looks like an indication of what it might actually be counting.

same as mine, or you are getting the same results in both IE and Mozilla?

Forgive me because I know not of what you speak. I run Opera 6.01, Netscape 7.0, and IE 6.0. Aren't at least one of these mozilla? I get 642,000 or 692,000.
This brings to mind a feature that would be nice for Google. If we put a question mark at the end of a search query it would be nice if it treated it like a question. For instance, Who uses mozilla? Could somehow give me results that included a site that tells you the different browsers that use mozilla instead of sites that include the text or are linked to with the text. this would be a big improvement for the "how do i" queries.

Nope. You're just accidently putting a space in your query when you were using Mozilla ie "link: www.yahoo.com", when the correct query is "link:www.yahoo.com".

Searching for "link: www.yahoo.com" is the same as "link www.yahoo.com" which has 1,690,000 results.
