2. One ad per affiliate and parent company sharing the same domain per search query. AdRank will continue to determine which site will be shown. (this will also stop different company departments from competiting with each other).
3. Affiliates will not have to identify their status as an affiliate. (You must manually change your ads to reflect the change, Google won't just remove the aff/affil from the ad).
4. Redirecting a landing page to another site, and framing a site will automatically cause an ad to be disapproved.
One ad per affiliate and parent company
so OK, 1 ad by ebay themselves, and another by an affiliate? in fact making it 2 ads?
will previous adrank/cpc/ctr etc remain, or is it a fresh start, so cpc prices will completely change?
many affiliates sitting at premium #1 or #2 because they got in very early and are paying like 10p whereas the newer affiliates are paying 100p to only get as high as # 4 or #5

CPC pricces may not change if they keep all the lower ranking ads with same affilate on active but on hold status.
I've not had the time yet to talk to Google indepth about the policy (some of us have to work...)
When I get some more details clarified - I'll post them here.

Well at least we have a little more space to use for ad text :-)
I see this as a way to force myself to get those landing pages up that I've been putting off for some time now. Hopefully this will not impact sales TOO much..

Then Google ought to be talking to us. They put the burden of disseminating this important information on you?
Does this mean that those who don't read this forum would have never learned about this?
patient2all long enough
One ad per affiliate and parent company sharing the same domain per search query.
I read it as 1 ad per domain, from either the merchant or an affiliate.
AdRank will continue to determine which site will be shown.
Which probably means the best performing ad (CTR x CPC) will show. I guess the selection will be made similar to what happens now within an account to determine which ad to show if a keyword is in more than 1 adgroup.
I'm rather pleased with this formula, which doesn't simply forbid multiple accounts per domain. I'm pretty sure we can continu to advertise in different countries form different accounts and not be affected. Hope to see an official email soon.
So AdRank is CPC x CTR, and you need to SHOW the ads to get the CTR so don't all the affiliates have to be afforded the opportunity to run their ads to determine CTR and thus AdRank?
If this is correct, then how long would that period be and when would the competition "re-open"?
Any ideas? Or am I completely off base?
Are you saying that there will be 1 ad from 1 affiliate (or merchant) who :
1. links directly to the merchant without a landing page?
2. and does not have a "redirect" or framed paged leading to the merchant?
So a review site with a landing page is still allowed?
How about keyword bidding on the merchant's product name or company name? I mean can a review site bid on the same product name as the merchant without restrictions?
Ckc,Where did you hear that? Is it just more speculation from some poster looking to agitate or was it in some responsible media? I'd be real interested in where you found that. I'm not knocking you for repeating it, it's just we were told by a mod the announcement was coming today and again nothing.
Why, I heard it in the most reputable of places: an internet forum. ;)
