Anyone else seeing lower ctr? Since around Wed last week our ctr has dropped a good 25%.

Normally I wouldnt be concerned on minor fluxes but this is on a large volume of traffic and has had a very stable ctr range for about 2 years across our network of 20ish sites.

Do you think this is to do with the new adwords system? We havent changed a thing on the sites and our traffic is still stable as always. Ads seem pretty ugly in some spots with leaders going down to one advert since the changes last week. Time to break out my punching bag I guess and go let out some steam..

And after being down for a week, my CTR and eCPM are up substantially (by 2X to 5X) over the last two days. On the one site where I still have non-AdLinks ads (I don't carefully monitor the follow-up AdLinks ad pages), the targeting is fine.

It's all crazy, isn't it?

Agree with EFV - very poor targetting lately. Also, some adblocks showing one or two ads instead of the usual four or five. It's all related to the adwords changes, I think.

My CTR bottomed out on Sunday, improved a bit on Monday and Tuesday and fell back down Wednesday - all lower than normal. Today it is back to where it was before the 15th and looking good. Earnings have been low since the 19th (last Friday).

I'm glad Google made these changes before Labor Day because the real money should begin flowing then. From my experience in the newspaper business, September and October can be wildly up and down, hit or miss, depending on your market. Overall, though, July and August are the slowest months and even slower on the net, I would assume.

Good luck to all.

falling 30% can be from any CTR, not saying that the CTR was above 30%

a %30 drop in CTR from a 10% CTR is 7% CTR
