Anyone else seeing lower ctr? Since around Wed last week our ctr has dropped a good 25%.

Normally I wouldnt be concerned on minor fluxes but this is on a large volume of traffic and has had a very stable ctr range for about 2 years across our network of 20ish sites.

Do you think this is to do with the new adwords system? We havent changed a thing on the sites and our traffic is still stable as always. Ads seem pretty ugly in some spots with leaders going down to one advert since the changes last week. Time to break out my punching bag I guess and go let out some steam..

Yes, sadly, my CTR has been cut in half since the middle of last week. I attribute this directly to the AdWords changes.

My CTR has taken a slight hit as well. It has fallen about 15-20% since Saturday. Traffic has remained steady.

Mine has fallen since last week too. I had been thinking it was a change in my sites design, but maybe not if others are seeing a drop in CTR at the same time.

Saturday and Sunday were CTR disasters but Monday and Tuesday are so good it frightens me. CTR is about 30% higher than normal and double what I saw over the weekend. I'm worried someone may be trying to sabotage me with clicks.

If it's real I'm thrilled. I'm thinking of contacting Adsense with my concern. Especially in light of this thread.

My CTR was 15% below the month's average on Friday and Saturday but improved somewhat after that.

Terrible weekend, Monday pretty poor, Tuesday back to normal, and the limited time so far today, way above normal.

It did coincide with style changes i did on Saturday, then Sunday and again on Tuesday evening. I'm happy with the results, but my low figures could be due to the amount I was changing things.

To paraphrase Forest Gump:

Adsense "is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."

In some days, you get good CTR, ECPM, revenues, etc. On some days, you can tear all your hair out (or what's left of it) due to frustration. It's a roller coaster ride, baby.

I get several hundred clicks per day and my CTR varies less that 1%. Since Thursday I have had a drop of about 20-25%. Revenue has dropped about 15-20%.

Yep, mine is down about 1/4 since about middle of last week also. Makes a big difference. :(

...hey, it just dawned on me. This adsense stuff is kinda unpredictable.

I gave up on the daily stat tracking for AdSense... things change WAY too much from day to day.

my EPC goes from $1.00 or more on some days (rare)... those are the days when I get jack nothing for clicks.

Then on the days where my clicks are through the roof my EPC falls below what you would get for taking back a pop bottle.

Very frustrating to have 20 clicks one day and make nearly $20, and to have 80 clicks another day and make about $10.

Actually I have been adding a lot more content trying to get visitors to spend more time on my site so my CTR has dropped slightly due to more impressions. Hopefully due to the additional content and longer visits.

My CTR varies, but usually without any discernible effect on eCPM. I think it results from Google's effort to serve an optimal number of ads, which presents fewer options to the viewer (hence fewer clicks) but a greater CPC (hence no significant change to eCPM).

Within that context, although I have seen a measurable decline in CTR in recent weeks, eCPM has risen slightly over the same time period.

After two spectacular days (given circumstances) I'm now facing one of the worst weekdays in months...

At least roller coasters stop and you get off...

mine are increasing, but my sites are still within 3 months new.

one is at 12.2% for the month (17.1% for the week, and increasing)

another is at 9.1 for the month and 8.5 for the week

third is at 3.6 for the month and 6.7 for the week

After a week of below average CTR, mine just shot up today. I just hope this keeps up.

My click through rate has been pretty good, over 7%. My earnings per click has dropped off a bit.

I think it may be the dog days of summer and hopefully once Sept. hits, rates will go up.

One thing that could be affecting CTR is lousy targeting. AdSense must be fiddling with its matching algorithm again--since yesterday, I've been seeing ads for the American West on the home page of a European travel site.

Thanks for all the responses, our ctr is still down 25% of our normal run rate for the last 2 years.

I am believing more and more that this is directly to do with the adwords change as well as what efv said, ads are way off target for alot of our properties.
