Wanderingmind i did opt for a rupee check but off late around 26th or something of March but by that time my check in US DOLLARS has already been dispatched and i got it yesterday.

Hope i get my first check encashed fast.Can indianads and Wanderingminds sayme whether it takes exactly 21 days or more for encashing the Check into INDIAN RUPEES?

Vijay, it takes anyware between 18 to 21 working days. You have to exclude saturdays, sundays and public holidays from working days. I have submitted my last check on March 7th and it got deposited in my account yesterday.
My bank is ABN AMRO who says its 21 days, but counting all holidays and weekends etc, it comes to 40 days.
So in my case, the period is 21 to 40 days after submitting the check.
This time I have asked for a secure delivery, rupee check. Lets see what happens.
Mine was also cleared yesterday.I didnt check it till now.Very Happy

Check really looked weird as most people stated it already. It came in a big envelope and return to sweden? For a minute I thought some relatives from sweden send me a letter out of the blue. Its a shame that this is the slowest delivery I have ever experienced with google :(.
Im not to happy about this, but what can I do? It doesnt look like its been tampered with - but hat details could be taken from the letter that could be used against me?
