Thanks for posting the ad revenue index rafraf, didn't know about this and when comparing to my own adsense over the last 3 years the highs and lows are almost identical.

This entire week was bad in terms of adsense earnings. RPM is stuck between $0.20-$0.26. No matter what happens RPM will not increase at all. So, is the number in analytics they hit an amount and then nothing onward.

Do not forget the bank holidays in large European countries UK on Monday and FR GR on Thursday with a bridge on Friday

Fortunately never considered Adnosense currently as my unique source of revenue for my retirement if I get 100 per day min I m still happy if not

I read many posts, here, reddit, etc. It feels to me that AdSense grabbed some of our earnings, out of greed or incompetence but it seems calculated / planned.

At random times for different people, most of us had a full month of up to 90% drop in revenue.

For me it is kind of recovering now (slowly).

You mean that the drop in RPM was in your site(s) with higher traffic ? My top site dropped 90% earnings during this problem, my other sites didn't seem affected.

I think new people still getting these big earnings drops, I think AdSense is not done with this yet :/

Im finally done with adsense. it must be 20 years since i started with them but the earnings just aren't worth it after this CPM changeover. Its obviously not going to return to how it was and the only way i can get the earnings back up is by switching on sticky footers and vignettes, but together with the GDPR pop-up, and that little GDPR button at the bottom of every page after, it feels like they've completely taken over my site.

The final straw is when i kept seeing loads of ads for google chrome and other google products. I tried to block google in the advertiser URLs but you can"t. It looks like Google has put in place a special exemption for themselves, so you cant stop their ads from appearing all over your site
It feels like they're rubbing our noses in it

Hello everyone,

AdSense earnings have halved starting in April and haven't improved since then. I'm getting more traffic, impressions from the same countries, However, the RPM has drastically fallen. I also tried switching one of the ad units to "In line" or in article/content (not sure what it is called), but it didn't make any difference.

1. Traffic, Impressions, increased.
2. 60-70% drop in RPM | Earnings dropped by 50-60%
3. 20% drop in clicks.
4. 20% drop on CPC.
5. Same viewability.

I reached out to AdSense via email, but their response was completely unrelated.

Do you guys have any idea what might be wrong and what I should do? I've never experienced such a drastic drop before.

I've been an AdSense publisher for almost 8 years now, and I do not use AI. My content is frequently referred by other publishers and I have strong brand value.

68% down compared to May 2023.
I expect more decline since Google has started to roll out AI overview and it will definitely cause more traffic drop to my 8 years old gaming blog. Imagine grinding in the game for hours, create walkthrough and guides just so Google can scrape it and shove it at the top in its AI overview. :(

My earnings seem to be fully returned to normal in last 2-3 days.

It messed up around 18 March when it dropped 90 - 95%. Now on closer look it looks like it took almost 2 months, not 1 as I initially estimated.

For the ones that didn't see this problem with their earnings yet ... brace yourself :) I think we all get them at random times.

Once I improve the SEO of one site Adsense goes up also in terms of RPM….

If only Adsense could apply Google's vaunted Gemini A.I. to AutoAds because...holy yikes. Everywhere and anywhere.

Maybe then I would be convinced that it can do more than make pretty pictures, finish my code, or rewrite history.

Current revenue is at the 2020 level. Thanks to HCU, all the hard work we did in the past four years was wiped out in the last eight months.
