You have to laugh. Eight clicks today for 9 pence. Six of those clicks were worth nothing and only two clicks actually paid any money. This type of thing happens every day - many clicks pay nothing and when a click does actually get paid it is for a paltry amount. My total Adsense earnings for the ENTIRE month of January 2019 were only slightly more than ONE average DAY'S earnings in December 2012. I actually stopped doing any more work on my web site a few months ago and will now start removing Adsense (again). It's completely dead and a monumental waste of time. I'm going to try my luck with YouTube, but it takes a while to get subscribers and watch time.

February has been dreadful for me, today is starting off no different, real bad.

Hmmm chaos...
Low traffic and very low payment = perfect storm.

Today is the Chinese New Year, but I doubt there is so much impact in the international traffic.

Pretty good week so far, actually. Was expecting a sharper decline. Too bad there's only 28 days in February, month always comes out lower. Not that that really means anything.

Lol...

First 16 hours of the day gave me 90% of the revenue of the day... last 7.5 hours almost nothing and I had about 2K unique visitors in those last 7.5 hours... and I'm talking about only few euro for that 2K visitors. Not reliable at all...

Edit: just noticed the CTR was about 0.26 for the first 16 hours and it dropped to 0.19 just before midnight. Lol, visitors suddenly stopped clicking?

Same thing happened to me, I live in South America and 90% of the revenue was made in the first 12 hours of the day.

After that, CTR dropped from 0,7 to 0,4
RPM dropped from 0,22 to 0,15

I hope they solve this problem by tomorrow.

My CPM has been awful lately... Although traffic is increasing the CPM isn’t. It has been staying roughly below £0.48 ever since mid January & £0.09 CPC. I checked last years earnigns and tbf it’s the same cycle, January started of bad but Feb was worse back in 2018 and then in March things started picking up so hoping it’s the same this year.

I'm doing 3% of what I got in the first days of February last year. Each month is worse than the previous one, with CPC and RPM almost at zero. Google diverts the best advertisers to their properties. It's time to ask: is there any alternative to Adsense for small sites? (Spanish and Portuguese)

@Juniya, yes I can confirm the same behavior. The first month of the year is typically embarrassing for earnings. The last months of the year (November-December) are typically some of the best months, by far.

I also have experimented with the "Ad Balance" for these months, in particular. I've gone as low as 10 percent viewing. The earnings were no different in my tests.

this month looks like very horror more than last months..
traffic up, click up, but cpc is down , rpm down,
I think adsense is going to the death

Domains really should have the right to control minimum bids for ads that display accordingly. Adsense is very lucky not enough customers are complaining about it and jumping ship to other networks.

What is header bidding? [webmasterworld.com]

Nothing to do with luck, AdSense remains one of the best-paying networks for many.

Yes, in the last 4 hours of the day, is like the stat is stuck

Header bidding isn't the solution because the coverage is not 100%.

About the daily clawbaks, I've noticed they are always a few euro in my case and several times a day. But the clicks, etc. are only few cents to maybe 50 cents each :'-) So with tiny steps the revenue raises during the day and few 'big' steps reduce the earnings with about 5 to 10 euro a day. Well at least Alphabet/Google made a lot of revenue again.

I was a few days hopeful of improvement but than suddenly from nowhere the CTR strarts to drop again and every 3 euro you earn there's a clawback of 50ct or 1 euro... I do'nt have ads at weird places, not near links and I'm improving website speed and using lazy loading for images. Does anyone know if lazy loading could affect Adsense ads?

I'm sure it could, but it shouldn't. Too many variables, depends on your implementation.

Had a good day yesterday, surprised to see earnings going up instead of down in February.

2months (december and january) i get more than 50% invalid traffic and they cut money off... also i saw that i have 80% organic searchs... and also someone (pump) my website from sweden with that clicks... January same. I send 2 reports to google to avoid suspend they didnt ansver but i see in february my revenue is low so im think they "fix" that.

Earnings, CTR, etc. going every where. Some days are good others are awful. I've about 4,000 unique visitors a day so it's strange to see days where CTR is halved. With few visitors it would be normal but 4,000 and about 40,000 pageviews a day it should be more stable.

February 2018 was better. Google maybe serving irrelevant ads that caused a CTR drop.

It's the worst February since 2016 for my websites. RPM numbers are incredibly low (0.8-0.9). Hope for recover as soon as possible: the middle of February is the time when all things should be picking up (but it seems not this year!).

After 4 day of RPM collapse by around 30~50% on the 6th through 9th. It appears recovered today without doing anything, maybe Valentine's day ads have starting to kick in?

Lol now I see a lot of ads with "Try Adwords...", what do they think at Alphabet/Google? And bet they don't even pay for such ads, it's getting more disappointing with the week.

I guess AdWords/AdSense ads are just fillups.

I've my own fillups so why does Google promote them selves with my inventory? If they pay it's okay but as publisher we can't see that so I guess they just rob the inventory.

They pay, they participate in the auction like any other advertiser. If you don't want to display the ads, simply block them.
