Just seen on my AdSense page
==============================================================
Your payments are currently on hold because you have not verified your address.
Verify address
Congratulations! Your earnings have reached the verification threshold, so we've started the process of verifying your account. This will prepare you to receive your first payment once you've earned the payment threshold.

To verify your account we automatically generate and mail a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to the payment address listed in your account. Once you receive your PIN, you'll need to enter it at the bottom of this page. In the meantime, your account remains active and you may continue to show ads and accrue earnings.
==============================================================
But I am at AdSense since 2004

I had the same crap on 15 year old account come up last week.

I received the PIN, verified my address and received a 1099 with an address that was at least 12 years old.

After going through a ton of trouble and basically going nuts on support, they finally let me know today that it was some technical glitch on the side of the payment department and there was no reason for me to verify my address in the first place.

vegasrick, thanks for the helpful reply - I've just had the same message today. What county are you in?

I live in the UK, get paid via BACS - my bank has the same address so they should know where I live.

I've been with Adsense for about 12 years and always had elec payments.

Thanks vegasrick. I'm in the US, Adsense member since it was in beta and got the PIN request. Well, I'll just wait for it

I had a similar experience to vegasrick. I've been with Adsense since 2003 and got the unexpected payment on hold/address verification message a couple of days back. I contacted support and they got back to me to say that it was an error on the account and I don't need to verify my address. And they have now removed the payment hold. So, if this has happened to you, it might pay to contact support.

I haven't got a pin request (yet) but i did have my 1099 sent to a 10 year old address. Have gotten 0 help from google aside from emails telling me i can go to some form to request a new 1099.. even after i took the time to explain in detail that my concern was that they sent my personal info to an address I havent used in a decade.

Got this PIN dreaded message appearing today in my account. Have been with AS for 10+ years, former Soviet bloc, now EU member country.

As a result, it looks like that there won't be payment this month. How nice from Google's part to arrange this PIN craze for the second part of the month...

I received this message today. I'm a US publisher, with Adsense since the very beginning, and been at the same address since 2009, always meet the payment threshold, and receive payment via Direct Deposit. Thus...I have zero understanding why I'm getting this message.

According to the message, the PIN will be sent out within one week. I'll then receive it 2-4 weeks later (depending on the mail). Thus, almost certainly I won't get paid from Adsense this month.

Some advance warning about this would have been nice.

Someone have contacted the AdSense support to know if it's a bug?

Yes, read up.

The cynic in me thinks this "mistake" was done purposely. But before, I continue, I have a question:

Are all of the people receiving this message, earning at least a reasonable amount? No showing off, just a yes or a no, to earning at least a few hundred dollars/euros/pounds a month.

If it's a 'yes' from all, then I think I know why they've done it.

steviec, for me is a 4 figures amount.
but i sincerely think that the golden age of Google has been reached, if they started to be interested in the accounts, it's probably that they start to have a problems with AdWords advertisers, probably Facebook ads is growing?

4 figures, and average for receiving the PIN in my country is reportedly 40 days. I don't mind if they're verifying old accounts, but holding the payments will be painful.

This is very depressing. I am from Belgium.

In january I had 4 figures but last month only 3 figures.

I used the "send feedback" button on adsense but I have no reponse yet.

@steviec Earning enough that Adsense account managers have contacted me a few times over the years...

@bluegum: did you contact support with the "send-feedback"-button on the adsense page? Or how did you do it?

Just received a reply, which states that it is a mistake and their engineers are working on it.

You think we need to wait for the pin and lost this month payment, or send an email to the support?

Contacted AdSense about 6 hours ago. Just received the following:

There was an error in your account. I've corrected the issue and you no longer need to verify your address. There are no payment holds on your account at this time.

Red bar of shame removed.

Thanks @bluegum for the advice, which I took.

I, too, received a notification of address verification. I've been with AdSense long enough to have never had to verify any address.

I contacted them via email and was informed that it was a bug in my account and that it has been manually fixed. The issue is thus now marked as "resolved" in the account. It appeared yesterday, Valentine's Day. It's just after 9am PST, so they were extremely quick to get it resolved.

So there you are. It may require either verification or getting the issue manually resolved.

I hadn't even seen this verify message in recent times. I just live with the red ads.txt message with no way to do anything about it.

All those "other sites" are in fact welcome foreign translation sites.

I never noticed the message on the website (but I don't check nearly as often as many of you ;-). But I did get a PIN in the mail a few days ago. I checked then and no message on the website.

I had the red message about address verification also, I've been with Adsense for 15 years.
The message vanished as well, but I received by mail the PIN.
Nowhere to put the PIN number now on the Adsense settings.
I received the payment today, so the part that the payments were on hole until the address was verified was definitely a glitch. :)
