June 2017 AdSense Earnings & Observations

Hi,

This is odd, today so far, my adsense earnings is in my upper range (which is already something suspect these days :) ), but, exclusively from the USA, not a single cents from other countries. This is very strange, usually, in the first half of the day, I have incomes from European countries showing.

Free fall on Thursday compared with last months.

1st of June was my best day of the year so far (not as good as last year). I suspect it's part due to late recording of clicks from the past week.

ps: in fact, it can be direct result of my switch from 300x600 to 300x250 side bar ads, that I mentioned last month.

June 1 was a completely wasted day as far as AdSense.

ps2: I also switched to PHP 7. Before, my average pages were loading (document) in 250 ms, now it's 150 ms. But I am not sure it can have a significant impact with Adsense or visitor's experience (1/10 of second faster is not perceptible, and it was already very fast)

I wish I could say June started off like may, but unfortunately I can't, it was a disaster for me as well.

The last day of May was one of the best days during the month of May. I had well over 10 clicks just on my 300 x 600 ad unit which is spread over various articles. I just don't get it, how can you get one day with loads of clicks on one specific ad unit, then hardly nothing for the following few days.

June has started of very well, with the 1st being one of the best days for the year. Today is also above average...

Beginning of June is pretty soft. May's finalized earning deduction was 4%. As the summer season officially starts, looking forward and hopefully for a strong end of month finish.

It's been 15 days my revenue is going so low, I have exact same number of impressions and page views as I used to have before. RPM and CPC has drastically changed, I have only half of my site indexed other are deindexed says the webmaster tools and I moved my site recently to HTTPS. Can somebody provide me a little help here, I am a newbie and want some suggestions.

Peter_S - I also made some page speed improvements late in May and have seen a really good start to June. Though I also made other changes that may have been contributing factors.

@IanTurner, I can't tell impacts. But June 2 was again VERY good. I wish it remains like that. But I learned that when there are too many "good" days, at some points they are voided by very low days. So I just continue my way, trying to improve every single aspect of my site and happens what happens :)

The first two days of June have been the worst in years. If it gets any worse I might as well not have AdSense on my website. What really hacks me off as people are getting away with paying me 1p for me to advertise their business. That is a #*$! insult on any website owner.

@Ironside, didn't you try alternative to adsense? For example, Amazon affiliate program, it might sounds good for your kind of site. There is also eBay Patnet Networks.

I have tried Amazon affiliate programs didn't really have much luck. I've got eBay affiliate on my website and for the first few months didn't do too badly, I was earning anywhere between £30 and £100. However, that's pretty much dried up now and I probably get a payment every three months, the last was £43 back in March. Problem is, what I advertise doesn't cost an awful lot so any money I make is very minimal. On occasion I get big payments coming in in one go, but these are probably things people have bought that have nothing to do with my niche, but they have gone from my website onto eBay and bought anyway. That's the good thing about the eBay affiliate program, as long as they go onto eBay from your link, they can buy anything and you still get a commission.

I also use media.net which up until a couple of months ago was getting better and better each month. Then all of a sudden it just dropped away and now I'm lucky if I make $3 a day in fact, May will be there first month I haven't reached the $100 threshold which you get paid. I think I made around $73 in the month of June from media.net. I was normally making anywhere between $130 and $190 which when added to my AdSense payment could result in a pretty good month. However, if AdSense carries on the way it is be looking at earning less than £100 this month. But if that does happen then I'm not going to let it get to me. £100 is better than nothing and it will certainly keep my van topped up with fuel for the month.

After a quiet end to May, June so far has been a couple of the best days this year. I thought it might be connected to the current demise of the ad balance, but I guess not

It still might be connected to the ad balance maintenance thing.

May clawback for me was 4% too. It used to be under 1%. June 2nd revenue picked up compared to June 1st.

@Denisl were does most of your traffic come from, mobile or desktop? As a matter of interest, what is your best performing ad on desktop and mobile?

I don't use the Ad balancer and the first two days of June have been really low.

First 3 days of June are 40% lower than May averages.

March was top, April 36% drop, May 38% up again and now big drop again.

Getting sea sick.

I am in the opposite. 3 days of June were (too) good. I earned as much as I use to earn in 10 days ! (while the traffic is "only" up by 10-15%, maybe the profile of visitor is much better). But I am sure that the next 10 days will be terribly low, ending in an average month.

Absolutely disastrous for me. CPC has collapsed, probably due to all of the phantom page views.
I have spoken to adsense support, who pointed me towards some info about sabotage. Unfortunately, the page views do not correspond to any individual sites, so it's impossible to identify where the phantom views are coming from.

Lowest-ever PVs across all sites. I honestly do not know whether I have been hit by the "whatever" update of 17th May or my implementation of https across nearly all my sites on 16/17th May or a combination of both except for the fact I have one site that has been totally unaffected so far.

It simply does not make any sense, some of my most popular sites yesterday, for the first time in 18 years, had zero visitors yet the SERPs rankings seemt to be fine. Yes I did check with a clean cache on different machines through different connections etc.

Honestly, the traffic levels are so low I may as well close most of the sites and walk away, I don't know what else I can do.

@RedBar Try turning off any 301 redirects to HTTPS and see if that helps. You can still set your preferred version to https in webmaster tools and update your internal linking structure to point to the https version.
Also, in Android, delete ALL DATA in the App Settings for Google Chrome, and then check that it is not throwing up a cert chain error.

@Redbar you are not alone, my earnings have almost nothing this month, I honestly cannot understand what is going on. I'm still ranking highly for many of my popular phrases. However, I have dropped to an average of 2300 visitors a day which may seem high to a lot of people but considering I was well over 3000 to 3 months ago on the something is not right somewhere.

For the first three days of June my AdSense has even reached £4 each day. It's absolutely crazy

@Ironside, you said 2300 visitors / day ~= £4 , how much did it use to be "before" ? If this is not indiscreet.

Hmmmm, my sites that have been badly affected also have a mainly UK audience.

@Ironside and Redbar: Are your sites hosted in the UK?

@Peter_S not at all, I don't mind discussing my website at all. Up until about six months ago I was probably in the region of around 3400 hits every day. Like I said, that's dropped considerably and now the lime is very steady at around 2400. When things started going wrong I drop down to around to around seven or £10 a day. But now it's just got worse and worse and worse and at the moment it looks as though it's heading for a one digit day. The majority of my traffic comes from mobile and I think that's what is killing me.
