My post count is nowhere near as high as most other members, but I have been here since 2006 so I didn't see any problem in starting this month's AdSense observation thread :-)

Not much to say about my start to July, absolutely dreadful

June was a good month, revenue up 19% in comparison to the previous year. Mobile RPM has been increasing slowly since January and is now on a similar level to desktop, which is amazing considering the hit in RPM when the mobile sites were launched last April before the 'Google Mobile Friendly' launch in SERPs. I should mention that desktop RPM has dipped slightly, but mobile traffic is growing massively and now makes up two thirds of traffic to the sites.

I'm constantly tweaking and improving the user friendliness of the sites both mobile and desktop, trying to ensure that pages loads quickly and are intuitive.

July has started out strong, the next 6 months are now my peak season so I'm hopeful that this trend continues!

June came out at about 71% of last year as far as AdSense, with about a 1.5% clawback (that seems to be a common percentage) Facebook Audience Network actually ended up about twice Media.net, and Media.net was over three times what it was last year. By the time I added it all up, I'm down maybe a couple hundred over last June (but a bit more diverse) July is starting out well so far.

June was pretty good. .004% clawback which is the smallest I've seen in a long time. July started off with a bang. Hoping it continues. I diversified with some other ad networks a while ago, including Media.net. I also started some direct advertising and would like to do more of that. Content.ad is a surprising winner for me, increasing every month.

@netmeg on FAN are you using native ads or banners or both?

Native ads only. I tried banners and they didn't do well, so I asked FAN support and they suggested that most people had better luck with the native ads. And they were right, in my case.

(Note that at this time, FAN only shows ads to mobile and 85-90% of my traffic is mobile. But supposedly they will be moving into desktop at some point in the not-too-distant future)

re: FAN ... I implemented them just few days ago and it's doing well for me too.

But I have one issue - how am I supposed to modify them, if I can't see them? The fill rate is about 30% but personally I haven't seen them even once. That means I have no idea how it looks like on my website.

Thanks for the feedback Netmeg! The majority of my traffic is mobile and I've been looking into FAN to compliment adsense on the mobile sites. I use media.net on the desktop sites but I found it was slowing down mobile.
That's also very interesting to hear that FAN for desktop is in the pipeline.

Net, I'm wondering what is your eCPM and fill rate for mobile? Do you have the native set to optimize for fill, fill/cpm, or cpm? Thanks.

June 2016 was up 14% at account level on June 2015 for Adsense.

Clawback was 1.2%. UK informational.

I don't think you can modify the native ads other than maybe the CSS that's in the ad code (and I didn't bother with that) You can preview them by looking at the page on your phone, I would expect. There's another way to view them by appending something to the URL, but I can't remember what it is, nor could I find it with a quick search - maybe that only shows up with when you create the placement.

I'm wondering what is your eCPM and fill rate for mobile? Do you have the native set to optimize for fill, fill/cpm, or cpm?

In reverse order, They are set to optimize for fill, my eCPM and fill rate vary between sites and I consider that to be confidential, but the eCPM and CTR are well above AdSense, and the average fill rate is well above 50%.

I had a relatively decent June, but July is off to a rough start. Compared to June 2015, my earnings for June 2016 grew 1210%.
This sounds incredible, but then again, I make nearly insignificant amounts, so a little increase commands high percentages.

I'm not sure what to blame the slow start on, but I can certainly say I have not published enough content this month (so, my fault).
My RPM went up in June, and started tapering downward toward its end, but hasn't stopped going down. My traffic on the other hand is slightly up this month, so I'm hoping the RPM catches back up to it.

Also, hello everyone, this is my first post on here.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld Mr Jefe.

Earnings wise it's going about as expected - AdSense is down, Facebook is making up for it nicely. But I'm going to net out about the same as last year, no growth there. Big traffic growths, but revenue is flat.

The really weird thing is the drop in the EPC. The number of clicks are WAY up - for example over the last two days, I had over 5000 clicks per day *more* than the same time last year. Yet the revenue for each day was considerably less than last year. My EPC must really have gone into the toilet. When I get past the holiday I'll have to take a look at that.

@netmeg That's very good news about FAN possibly being available for the desktop. In several of my niches, I still get more desktop PVs and clicks.

CPM still decent surprisingly regardless of the new quarter, perhaps because of July fourth promotion ads. Hope it continues.

I have one site that is starting to tank as far as epc and ctr. On another site the epc and ctr are actually increasing. It is odd because the topics are similar, even if the content is not, and they have very similar traffic.

Netmeg and others do you get better results with your FB ads optimized for fill or optimized for CPM, or halfway in between?

Mine are optimized for fill.

What EPC do you tend to see? Mine usually tends to be on the low side with fill, like 8 cents, but when optimized for CPM I exhaust the ad inventory too quickly to make it sustainable.

It varies from day to day and site to site.

Best day yesterday for ages. In fact, my first £xx day in more than two months. Nearly all of that came from a 300 x 600. 31 clicks, page RPM was £4.20, impression RPM £4.24. Let's hope it keeps up like this.

Everything way up today, even the site that I thought was starting to tank. Maybe it all had to do with the last several days being a long drawn out holiday.

Weird lowest-ever-EPC. So dramatically weird that I might have to ask em what happened. But the bottom line isn't horrible.

Sorry I know this isn't an adsense question, but I notice people are talking about FAN. I'm struggling to get it to work on my mobile site.

I've generated the code and put it on my site - a white space appears where the ad presumably will go, but I can't figure out how to test it?

Status says: enabled for testing, but under domain it says: Not started - please send an ad request.

I think I'm missing a step here, but I can't quite figure it out.

Yes it has a white space where I assume the ad will appear - looks like a 300x250 space.
