We just switched one of our sites to a responsive site and switched the ad units to responsive units. What I'm seeing is that our adsense cpc and rpm dropped considerably with the switch to responsive ads. Has anyone else had the same problem?

Yes, I recently switched to a responsive layout and I have seen a big drop in CPC and CTR. However, I kept my old synch ads. The only thing I can think of besides the responsive layout change is I also changed the name of my ads to a new naming convention. I have read simply changing your name could cause issues because people might be specifically paying for ads on yours ad units and changing the name causes them to lose where your ad is. Something along those lines.

Had high pageviews but CPM was kind of meh. Things were starting to get back to normal!

Also saw that I had about 9% clawback taken away for the entire month from the crazy-invalid-clicking nonsense. Glad I blocked that version of Firefox when I did or else I would have been more depressed and disappointed by the takeaway.

18% taken from my account for 2 crazy days of invalid clicks.

Well, I think staying with Google Adsense doesnt make sense at all, they dont want others to survive on them anymore. They want brands but again.. even kill the brands as well from the web. Google just want to list their properties on the top in all the niche. Today or Tomorrow google is only going to promote or list Google sites only. I have noticed lot of changes in couple of years, they make brands they demolish by themselves. I think we to think for some other ROI methods to survive in the industry.

" I think staying with Google Adsense doesnt make sense at all".......Oh yes it does....the point is how succesful publisher you are.....as about other platforms of revenue if you are not doing well with adsense you wont do with them as well, after all everything is a matter of good rankings.

Take advantage of what you can get from it, but be looking for other ways to monetize so that when it doesn't bring anything in anymore, you can kick it to the curb. You just have to see it for what it is is all. It doesn't work for every publisher and it doesn't work for every niche and sometimes it dries up. So get what you can and be looking for something else.

I only have one AdSense ad left on every page of my website, and it's doing better with one ad. I noticed that when I replaced a 728x90 AdSense Banner with another advertiser, that one banner made more in one day than the other two AdSense ads left on the page. Now I have replaced more AdSense ads with another advertiser, and I am doing much better. I think the main reason that AdSense wasn't doing well is that the ads were mostly unrelated to the content of my site, and the same ads were appearing everywhere throughout the site. Google isn't the be all and end all.

cpm is pretty high today so far. appears to be 50% higher than last month.

i have about 12% deducted from last month's ad click bomb event (against the whole month's earning), with no bots or hosts specifically blocked on my server's end.

1st of May is traditionally free in most of Europe and it was nice weather.
It seems that no one is using the desktop.

Low traffic, low payment = perfect sh*et storm.
It's the lowest day of the year from what I see.

Yes its really horrible! CPC decreases slowly since the 21th (Website is Responsive) and now CTR drops also ... Anybody else monitors the same? Hope this will improve on monday....

Month is off to a good start. Re: adsense earnings, this website/ad thing is my fourth career/job/making money reincarnation. The first three were successful but none of them lasted. This one is successful but I don't expect it to last, either. So I am doing this and working on my next venture at the same time. So I'll be ready if and when adsense goes belly up.

Day is almost over and I'm just at 1/3 of the average earnings, ctr/cpc all down 30% since I switched to responsive ads 15 days ago. Except 2 above average days, other 13 days are below average and today is gonna be the lowest day of year. And did I say, they took 18% In April.

What can I say?

Friday I had my highest earning's day in a couple of weeks yet my third-lowest PVs in a month.

Tablets and mobile made 73.7% of my earnings.

Saturday's earnings' half of Friday at 48.1% with PVs normal for a Saturday.

Tablets and mobile made 74.5% of my earnings.

April's tablet and mobile earnings averaged 38.9%.

Rubbish, even with good rankings AdSense can be next to useless these days.

I had the worst Saturday in the last five years yesterday, and Google was kind enough to inform me of that with a huge sidebar showing that earnings were 49% less than what was their forecast.

I haven't changed my site yet to one that's responsive or mobile friendly. The mobile version I tested looked awful.

Clawback for the April click party was about 4 to 5 %.

Pretty good start to May for me, plus I got one bite (so far - it only went out Thursday) on my direct mail piece and the guy signed up for a whole year, so that more than paid for the mailing at least.

"if you are not doing well with adsense you wont do with them as well"

That's wrong. AdSense serves nothing but crappy ads to my website...99% of the time they don't even relate to the subject of the website. I found that switching to other advertisers who serve ads that my visitors will actually click on made all the difference in the world.

4 out of the last 5 days have been pretty bad, 1 days was my lowest ever. Today is a very good day, but is total different than normal. For example, tablets is usually my lowest device source of clicks. Today, it's having a huge day and has way more clicks than desktop. Everything is opposite of normal, but still doing well. Bizarre.

When I check my website stats using [similarweb.com...]
I can see the top destination sites are:
adcash.com
jmpdirect01.com
youradexchange.com etc etc
I've never put adcash ads on my site so I figure these must be the destinations of browser plugin malware ads? If I check their stats on similarweb, their visits are increasing at a high rate.

Is anyone else seeing anything similar. So many computers I see are infected with this malware and it is nearly impossible to remove once installed on the host.
