January 2015 was not a great month for many.
February it's a short month.
On 2nd of February in US is the NFL Super Bowl and we all know that dreaded 14.02... :(

First day of February had a very low payment for me, the second seems to be worse.

Let's home Springtime is near...

Why can't Adsnese create a floor, industry-wide of at least $1?

Because the advertisers want cheap clicks on long tail, and Google cares about what the advertisers want more than what the publishers want.

Whilst I tend to agree with netmeg I also feel that Google's couldn't care less attitude towards publishers is building-up a huge amount of resentment towards the company which could back-fire on them spectacularly.

Then again Google may simply not know whay it is that many publishers are having such a bad time because Google people are not real people, they're androids!

Looks like on the 27th Adsense had issues as according to reports I didn't get a single ad click on my site but the usual amount from adsense search. As traffic is the same and logs show exits via adsense I suspect some delay their end although I never saw the redbar at all.

Yeah G, whatever you say...the last two days I just so happen to have had my two lowest click volumes and CTRs of 2015 generating 58.9% of February's earnings' average.

Considering I had a normal Friday traffic you also managed to suggest I had my second-lowest PVs of the month...nothing's broken at G, it's all completely normal fubardness for some of us!

If almost everybody is getting less clicks, then the google must be getting less clicks. The google can not survive a decline in revenue like the publishers can. So, adjustments are made to keep, or at least appear to keep the google's revenue up. It is all about the stock value.

Not all of us are getting less clicks, there are plenty here who can confirm that, to me there are two major concerns:

1. If Google is deducting clicks from many of us are they actually returning that money to the publisher or are they pocketing it making the advertisers spend look normal/average?

2. Just why are some of us experiencing such horrendous reductions in clicks/ctr and, quite often, click values and such violent ups and downs with earnings when, for the most part, it was a fairly easy thing to predict earnings every day, for me, as 90% of earnings would be between 90-110% of the daily average whereas this week alone I have experienced 47.3% to 224.8%

That is complete and utter madness, something is being manipulated somewhere and it ain't by me!

Looks like whatever they did happened on Wednesday Jan 25. About a 20% drop in CTR. Same or slightly higher traffic 98% from USA.

Could just be more mobile traffic.

From Adsense rep
Responsive is the way to go, but in general mobile RPM is lower than desktop

hopefully over time the traction builds for you on mobile and as more advertisers target mobile web users the CPCs will go up and increase revenue

Needless to say Saturday ended with one of my lowest-ever days even though PVs were bang on average. I'm not surprised really since I had a look through the ads on several sites and they were useless, absolutely and utterly off-target, so we're back to this hit and miss garbage again are we?
