Have at it!

Slow start to what should be a killer month for me.

I had a good week last week. There were two things I did which may have made a difference:

1. I changed the wording in the description metatag for my index page in an effort to improve ranking for a particular set of keywords.

2. I stopped posting some of my updates to Facebook. I really think Facebook is sucking some of the life out of my traffic, so if someone wants to get the good stuff offered on my website, they're going to have to go directly to the source.

Also, I spoke to someone from Google Adwords last week who assured me that using Google Adwords does not adversely affect earnings on Adsense. I've heard from various sources over the last couple of years that it's not a good idea to use Adwords to drive traffic to your site if you get any revenue through Adsense. The representative from Google said I didn't need to worry about that. If the content on a website is original and substantial, there's no need to worry. I always kind of knew that but you hear a lot of crazy stuff on some of the boards here and on Google.

By the way...who's the biggest purveyor of nonsense at the Google Adsense Help Center? I'm curious to know if anyone here has an opinion on that.

I have a challenge.

Knock out those four words I mention on "your" content and watch "your" search results climb over a 3 week period?

Can't do, never used them, maybe I ought to?

Just passed yesterdays earnings. This is fantastic provided I forget about the days when I earned about 50% more a day.

> I'm having a stellar day, other than the ads in Arabic, of course.

Yeah, what's up with that? I've started to notice more of these lately.

Strangely enough..using Opera one has a "speed dial" facility with semi-live thumbnails of pages which a single click will take you to..the basic opera page has been giving 503 for some time now ..and the replacement Opera page "thumbnail" is the Arabic version of the Opera "Middle East" home page ..which I most certainly did not set it to..

The month has been going OK, not great but not bad, then yesterday it halted and today is looking just as bleak. Hoping for a click dump.

Bandwidth going through the roof, and have just had to block the Yandex bot. I don't have many Russian visitors or clicks.
CTR and EPC were good yesterday, though I don't think the month of June is going to be anything to sing about.

Somebody please wake me up when the nightmare is over.

Haven't you worked it out yet? There is no waking up. We all died in that crash. This isn't a nightmare, we've been condemned to spend eternity suffering in Adsdense hell...

I'm singing. la la la la. Yesterday was best day of the year (so far)

Zarathustra, I had to block Yandex from a couple of client ecommerce sites; it spiders hard (and is of little use to us)

Just had to stick my earplugs in - can hear your singing from here! ;p

Yandex has eaten away at least two days' profits; glad I spotted it when I did as I'm not one to really bother with my log files.

I don't mind Yandex and I rank well in it, Russians are always in my top 5 visitor numbers and click at the same level as everyone else.

The Panda mauled ny Coppermine gallery over the weekend and then, hell knows what happened sometime after 21.00 hrs UK time last night, provided my gallery with its best day in 2 months with EPC 181.1% and CTR 144.8%.

Meanwhile my new flagship site (mid 2011) is being drowned by pathetic mediocrity and scrapers and now has 40% of the traffic of January/February time.

It's everything my industry requires and everything Google "says" we should construct...left/right/turnaround...what a load of codswallop!

My last 2 days have been enough to at least get me to smile. Waiting for the dial to move today. Based on being as bad as 50% of normal, I'd take 75% with glee.

Yesterday never recovered and today looks much the same. It's as if G is keeping the monthly numbers in check. "This is about what you get a month, so we have to slow down the train to be sure you don't get more."

Yersterday was awful, and today, is a train wreck... I share the same feeling as JCKline.

Are stats stuck today? Way down. Way down.

Excellent first 10 days of June - a short spell of very good weather.
Then complete silence, no clicks at all.

Someone at Adsense must have given the system another jolt, tweaking it back into oscillations and instability

I hate SERP updates.

Just an observation;

2 days of no clicks at all - this after 10 days of excellent revenue from a wide variety of click sources on many sites with unrelated topics on different servers.

Isn't that great news!

Link units keep disappearing. I noticed it the other day, and is still like it. It was supposed to have been fixed by Google, but obviously not.
