Oh dear, stats still not caught up meanwhile all AdSense metrics are going downhill rapidly for me...no bounce yet and I don't feel there is going to be one, welcome to the new MadSense, and Google won't be able to tell us what has been happening since they obviously haven't a freakin' clue themselves other than they'll have another record breaking quarter and all the Google shareholding fanboys will be wetting themselves with delight.
Stats recovered just now from a 3 or so hours delay. And the roller coaster continues! Yesterday high CTR with low EPC with the same December traffic. Turned out a very crappy day. Today, CTR extremely low, low traffic, super high EPC! It's 3:11 pm and it is a record breaking day already! Weird.
Me and my friend used to touch on daily basis $800-$1000. All of the sites received natural traffic and ranking across various terms.
About start of Jan/something 2nd week we saw significant loss in earnings. I am talking about my own account here, from average $900/day I am not hardly reaching $400.
I have not lost rankings/traffic or anything. I did not even touch any of the sites. The impressions are same.
However it seems the CTR/CPC has dropped significantly. I have no idea what is going on. At first, I thought may be it is just a few day issue as it always happens, but now I am on 2nd week ride with this type of earning.
Really, can someone from Google Adsense team share some update with us as to what is going on?
My traffic is 100% natural and it has been like that for past 7 years and my earning has been stable and on constant growth as I acquired new sites. But past few weeks I am earning at max $400 a day. Can't believe $500/day drop in my earnings.
I am not in any seasonal type stuff. I don't think I am smart priced, because same situation is currently happening to my friend.
He used to touch daily $550+ (weekends were in low $300's) now he barely gets $200 a day.
@ErnestHemingway: There are a lot, really a lot of threads like this on different forums on the web. Nobody knows. I, too, think not to have been smart priced, even though this thought has "stroked" my mind. Google doesn't exaplin anything. Not even on Google Adsense forum where their "expert" members only give shallow explanations. The only thing we can do is wait and share our findings. However, the official thread about this ...ehm...situation is here: [webmasterworld.com...]
Looks like EPC took a 20% jump UP for me so far today. Anyone else seeing a slow improvement? Crawled a smaller bit up yesterday too.
But im in the "how can google explain this boat". Its statistically hard to believe that advertisers across the board, all at once, dropped their bids like crazy and caused a 40 to 60% drop in EPC, especially for large far reaching sites.
Imps and CTR are up, EPC on life support most of the month. Another thing, I block google and groupon in the competitive filter and CTR goes down significantly. Are people only clicking on giant groupon burgers and Nexus ads or Google is punishing me for blocking them? What the heck is going on. That Groupon burger sure looks delicious though..
Well, unless you are getting within +/-10% the same volume of visitors every day then eCPM is only a comparative measure, the real average that matters is average EPC (Earning Per Click) and the actual overall daily earnings.
