I simply changed the text color (not url or title), but just the text color from a bright color to a not as noticable color and the new channel shows a double CTR rate of what I had and therefore a much higher ECPM.
Don't know if it will hold, but all I can tell you is that this has brought me back to my normal CTR and ECPM rate.
Seems that this has also worked for me in the past. No idea why, but sometimes a new channel and a little change in ad color or position works.
I'll let you know if it holds or not.
I wonder how many other publishers have been pushed that little too much by declinieng Adsense revenues and found that there is other money to be earned in them there hills?
Tell me about it Nomis. Just this week my AdSense diversification plans have advanced considerably. I am now starting to feel more confident about making money outside it.
If I removed adsense from those spots and put posters of the moon for sale I would probably earn more.
Not enjoying these cataclysmic bad adsense days. We weren't earning this low in 3-4 years via them. So something is terribly wrong.
We shall leave AdSense to run on a couple of sites to see if and when it returns to normal however I very much doubt we shall see that since whatever it is they're doing seems to be screwing-up the program more and more each day.
A re-boot of some kind is clearly necessary.
What you get for being the Great Google Apologist.
No he isn't, he tells things the way that he sees and experiences them. He's a very knowledgeable publisher and if you care to read some of his posts you will see that he has actually been diversifying away from AdSense as an income source.
My guessing would be that his AdSense is doing reasonably well precisely because he gives it much less exposure thus forcing up his EPC plus this is also his prime widget sales period.
Any criticism of Google brings him out in defence.
He always tries to spell out the facts of the program and how it has undoubtedly changed over the years plus I have seen him be very critical about Google/AdSense in the past.
Many of us are extremely, and justifiably, frustrated with AdSense at the moment with their deafening silence since the AdSense program is clearly in a complete mess for some of us, therefore if they do not come forward and offer some kind of explanation it is possible a lot of publishers will lose complete faith and trust in Google plus I wonder how many sites are close to shutting down altogether?
