Why? My main web server has blown up and we've been down for hours...arghhh...just what I needed!
Several people in my neighborhood who are mostly DC elite have shelters that put mine to shame though. Sustained living for 12-18 months for upwards of 20 people.
When you see people "in the know" building these it tends to motivate you.
I thought it is forbidden by Adsense TOS to talk about our income. Isn't it?
The real question is what isn't forbidden by the Adsense TOS?
Since when does G have to show any specific violation of the TOS to boot a publisher?

OK, I am now sitting on my bags of rice, armed to the teeth, waitng for "them" to come.
All that aside, yes I do think the economic slump is affecting earnings ina marginal way.

So you can say "my eCPM rose by 60% last month and as a result I earned $120, but that is still not enough to fund a Claustrosphere".
However, what is hurting is that a couple of my major CPM banner advertisers -- not with Adsense -- were banks, one of which went glug this week. There went THOSE ad dollars. A major shipper of packages has also stopped advertising on my site; they were paying double-digit CPM for certain demographics. Suspect nobody's buying anything online right now and THEY'RE hurting.
Total impact is pennies per thousand, because other advertisers have filled the holes, but I'm worried about trickle down effect as there are fewer and fewer advertisers and therefore less competition and therefore lower CPMs.
Already have a bomb shelter but that is just prudent planning living close to the DC area. It is a modest shelter suitable for 90 days of sustained living for 12 people. It can sustain a almost direct impact from most of todays nuclear yields.
Suspect nobody's buying anything online right now and THEY'RE hurting.
By contrast my adsense earnings are higher than they have been in 3 years and have more than compensated for the sales slump. Overall I'm up for the month and I would have NEVER guessed this would happen.
I've been doing this for 10 years and thought I had the ability to predict trends but this one has completely blown me away. Somebody slap me in the forehead...
What do they mean with "the Dollar could crash"?
It is hard to imagine how the current crisis, which could cost as much as $2 trillion, can be resolved without eventually resorting to the printing press. Once it becomes apparent that inflation is inevitable holders of dollars will dump them, causing a crash.
Inflation would make all those shaky mortgages easier to pay.
