Now that Adsense is maturing a bit and has been available for almost a year, I'm curious to know if anyone has been able to show steady growth and grow there Adsense revenue?

There's no doubt Adsense has been a God send for a lot of us as it is new found revenue never before realized, but now that we all have experience with it, has anyone been able to grow there revenues through either new sites and has it incentized many to build new websites?

Welcome to the forums, Markus.

Haven't seen you around, but apparently we share the nickname ;)

My biggest negative issue is the environment of fear they have created by keeping up to two months of earnings when knocking people off, even if the site did nothing wrong. If not for this fear, I would put far more effort into my AdSense sites and I feel confident I would have steady growth.

That's kind of where I am at. I could put more effort into my Adsense ads, since I have a site that gets (semi) decent traffic. However, I am sort of waiting for the axe to fall, which is silly, I suppose. Either it gets axed or it doesn't. If I'm going to do Adsense, I might as well do it all the way. But yet I hesitate to devote a whole lot more time to it. I think that I will have to change that stance, huh?

As for my earnings (so far—I'm pretty new), well, since I don't want to violate TOS, let's say that I could buy myself some nice extra goodies or pay off some bills or something each month with what I've been earning. It's nice for me but I know that many others would be disappointed with the kind of numbers I'm getting. However, I didn't have grand expectations, so it doesn't take much to please me. But I'm sure my earnings could be more nice if I put more work into "Adsensing" my site.

You and me both, MQ. I just tentatively added a few ads to some more pages.

I looked at my web logs and chose which additional pages seemed most suitable for Adsense ads. We'll see how that goes. Wish me luck and I wish you luck! :)

This TOS thing really needs to be addressed by Google. Now we have webmasters afraid to add AdSense to their site (or at least in a big way).

AdsenseAdvisor, where art thou?

Have I missed something?

Where does it say in the AdSense TOS that if you add AdSense ads to your site you risk being booted from the program?

I'm constantly on the add (in a big way). I've never had a problem or email from them about it.

The best way to avoid problems with AdSense is to use the network the way it was intended to be used: Place the code on your pages and let Google worry about the ads. IMHO, too much "AdSense optimization" may be as risky as too much search-engine optimization.

I have had a manual review because of ecessive kw's. I fixed the problem and they said I was ok. So I know they are fine with my sites.

I think europeforvisitors is correct - if you play on the knife edge, you run the chance of getting cut or falling off. Having triggered one manual review for keywording games, will Google offer another review or send a termination letter the next time that concern is raised? And the same type of keywording games which would trigger an AdSense review seem likely also to be the type of games which could trigger penalties by search engines, if detected.

But then, for the type of revenue described, some will find it worth the gamble.

The thing is that I know what they approved and as long as I keep my sites like that then I should not have to worry.

Besides an AS boot may be the best thing for me. I'm too afraid to get rid of it. I may lose one or two months income because of it but that is business.

In any business something bad can happen that shuts you down or makes you start over. The people that take those risks get rich. There are a lot of people out there that bet it all and lost it all but there are some out there that bet it all and made it all. It's fun. I am just not the regular job kind of guy. I don't want to have a job where $50K or even $100K is my max ever.

Well, no worries there for me. I haven't altered one thing on any of my pages for Adsense. They are as they have always been.

I wouldn't even know how to do the keyword optimization, other than what I've done already to do well on the search engines (which has been a pretty natural process for me—I didn't go overboard with keywords and all the words used were appropriate and relevant for my site).

So, I guess I shall not worry, eh?

Wow. Well, so far the reports for today are a big improvement. I just added ads to a handful of pages, too, but I chose them carefully. Don't know if it's a coincidence or a fluke or what . . .

Good to hear big $$$ stories. The more you make the harder it is for Google to kick you out - as it is making more money for them then for you! (in my opinion)
