What are the type of content that is high paying for Adsense?
If you are looking to make money with AdSense then for get about it. That is don't focus on just the income and what type of content makes the most. As Ann points out, if someone knows that info they aren't going to just give it away. What you need to think about is creating content that is useful and can help people in some way. If you can create content like that, the money will work it self out. Just my two cents.
Unless of course you have no expertise in anything.
You need to investigate your own niche areas. It is easy to find the top paying keywords on adsense - nigh on impossilbe to make money out of them. Find your own niche. Write qualtiy content, and given time and patience it will eventually come to you.

The niche that pays the most is the niche you know something about. And I say that on the basis of personal experience.
A site about, say, mesothelioma may earn you nothing: EVERYONE is chasing keywords like that and you won't be able to elbow your way into the search engines. And most likely you aren't an expert. But a site about, say, concert-quality string instruments may pay you very well if you are a musician and can write about them with passion and in detail.
a lot of the computer-related niches used to be riddled with mfa's and keywords that don't pay much.
do a search for the subjects you are interested in, and count the total number of advertisers in the sector, on the search results page... if it's a good sector, there will dozens of advertisers on the first few pages of search results.
that doesn't tell you what the keywords are worth, tho, and it doesn't tell you how to generate traffic to your site, in such a heavily competitive environment... but at least you should have some advertisers showing up on your pages.

I'm passing his great idea along to you since I have already chosen my niche, the one I know about and promised my parents I would make a living at when I convinced them to let me quit high school(nearly 20 years ago) at age 15. All you need is dedication and you can make it big under any topic.
Are you under the impression that the Internet is going to stop growing and there will never be enough people to fill the topic that is your passion in life? Or, don't you have one?
unbeknownest to you I have a huge knowlege of instruments, studied music for many years.. I am not too proficient these days, but get by on lots of wind instrumentst - the old wooden varieties - before you lot start!..... unless you gyes are made of wood that is!
There once was a time that I could say that I played all of the woodwinds, and excelled at clarinet & oboe. I could write volumes about them but I no longer have the interest that it would take to do it. Without the interest on my part in the subject matter, I doubt that there would be many who would read what I'd write. I'm missing the passion that I once had for that subject.
Write about something that you do have a passion for. Write about something that will never bore you or wear you down. Look to your surroundings for inspiration. You just might find a gemstone hiding in the gravel.
I do make some money off my toilet sites, but I reckon the wide open AS frontier is cat (kitty) litter.

this question gets asked a LOT and in truth there is only one answer, and it is not a subject that you are expert in (although it could be) like many here suggest nor is it the subject where you can make a quality site in ...
the topic that pays most is the one in which you are able to to get traffic to your site in.
with no traffic then no money, whatever the keywords
- there are other factors like some topics really do pay better per click, but the bottom line is you need traffic.

In one of my college classes, we discussed how these lawyers go to small towns with loads of uneducated people in middle America and test and convince anyone with the slightest above average asbestos readings to sign on to file a lawsuit.
Then they go the big company and show them the list of thousands of potential lawsuits. The company decides it is faster and cheaper to pay them off than go through each case in court.
Why is the legal system so screwed up in America?
