...got me to wondering "How do you relax and consider your next AdSense improvement or web site update to increase AdSense earnings etc?"
For the first couple of years I used to partake in late night beers with a good friend, also an AdSenser, however he recently moved away and this does not happen very often now, however we came up with some incredibly good but also some unbelievably stupid or impractical ideas.
These days I find walking my Siberian Husky in the countryside gives me the time to ponder those thoughts and give me enough impetus to try something new. Heck, I've enough domains to try something!
How do you get your thinking and relaxation time?
This could be interesting!
For those of you earning too much or too lazy to do anything, we know who you are...
and plot in the quiet solitude.

"How do you relax and consider your next AdSense improvement or web site update to increase AdSense earnings etc?"I don't find this activity very relaxing. I don't spend a lot of time at it either, unless I have to completely remodel a bunch of pages, then I'm a bit more cautious and slower.
Otherwise I just plop the change on a few pages and let it run a few days to see what happens. If it works well I might push it out to more pages.
If an Adsense idea works too well I might very well trash the idea.

How do you get your thinking and relaxation time?I go have coffee with a friend or such. I work alone which can be pretty isolating, so getting out is good anyhow.
I also go to site related events and that usually turns up some great idea I'm way too lazy to implement. Maybe someday.....
When I'm walking my dog, she insists that I give my full attention to her, not to AdSense.
And...ummmm...just how does the pooch communicate this to you EFV? :)
I'm thinking any pup that can communicate that clearly may need her own website to keep her busy.
Toss on a little Adsense and she'll be buying her own premium dog biscuits in no time. :)

I do the same, only it's an Alaskan Malamute in a suburb.
I brainstorm with my partner (if we had the energy to implement even half the ideas we come up with, we'd be retired and living on an island by now) while watching movies or planning a show or lighting things on fire.
My inspiration for new content comes from a variety of sources. Often events that happen in real life point towards a page that nees to be written, or in a recent case a flame war has inspired me to write a new article.
I live in a dutch town close to an international airport.
London, Paris, Berlin and Brussels are all within a 1 hour flying distance. It might sound a bit pompous, but I visit these places often just to relax and get some inspiration. Many of my ideas about new articles or new websites have been conceived while strolling along the Thames or the Seine. I also can take my car and drive to Amsterdam in 30 minutes.
A less pompous but also very effective way is to get on my bicycle wich brings me to a deserted countryside in 10 minutes. I just stop and listen to the nothingness. I see an old farm and a church, some cow is looking at me and a swan is swimming in a little lake.
And that's how inspiration is made. Just find the right place, people or atmosphere to surround you, settle down and relax, and it will happen...

I know where you're coming from HB, actually even though I live in the middle of the countryside in the UK, I'm 30 minutes from an airport which is also only 40 minutes from Schipol.
I kid you not, Amsterdam is quicker and easier for us to get to than London, and cheaper! We often pop over for a night or two...I'll sticky you next time we're coming, maybe September, busy at the moment.
but the best ride is when I forget about work and it's just me, the wind and my bike.
Basically all the stuff I never used to be able to do when I was tied to the corporate ball and chain. I'm much poorer now and can only just about get by, but I am a thousand percent happier for it.
Just my thoughts.
While lying there in bed, something magically comes to me and I reach over to grab pen and paper to write it down.
- Haven't happend yet.
So tomorrow, I will be buying a bedpen and some paper, and start writing down whatever pops into my head just before I'm all gone into the land of dreams.
Where I get my inspiration and when I relax?
..during my workdays.. sitting in the company car, driving around delivering plasmas and LCD's, fridges and dryers.. Listening to the radio, looking at the nature in the countryside, sometimes looking at the people in the city.. and some days when I'm reeeeaally lucky I get to deliver some very very lightweight products to the rich people down at the beach...
I guess this isn't too bad, but oh man would I rather be living at the beach, than be the guy who delivers plasma's there.
Ok now you made me jealous, I think that is the first time that has happened in my life.
Can you get broadband there?
Need a hiking partner? I have convinced my woman to move out of state (native) that would be "out of state"!
I am stuck evading Cacti & Rattle Snakes on my trails (oh, and Bloated Sheep the kind that eat at McDonalds)

Sold the UK house, closed the original UK business and moved lock stock and barrel to foothills of the Pyrenees.
Ever read "A Piano in the Pyrenees" by Tony Hawks? Light entertainment, and you would enjoy it.
There you go - get away from the computer and read a book as a way of relaxing.
(How do you play guitar with a cat on your lap? Cause I've tried it, and not only does the playing suffer, but it ticks off the cat)
She never liked my playing anyway!
Since going it alone, formed a special relationship with the cat since I am at home all day. I digress from the subject of discussion I know, but I'm sat there working away and she's very often sat on my PC tower right next to me... just watching... and probably criticizing every line of my code for all I know! :-)
PS Its nice to read a light hearted thread on the forum - keep them going!

pay tax in the UK. We then draw monies into France and have to pay additional tax on this.
Heck, I object to paying tax once, but twice?
There's a double taxation agreement with France surely that would mean you should not need to pay tax in France if you've already paid it in the UK?
Surely you can add a new bank account in "Choose Form of Payment" and have it EFT direct to France?
saves a lot of hassle compared to having a French registered business.
Yep, that's one of the reasons I backed out of France, far too much hassle for me!

Yes I am a "Southerner" - born in Berkshire but then moved to South West Cornwall, however I think the nowt for owt is probably the correct spelling - I was just having a blond moment - no offense intended to any blonds out there.
What we currently do is have the Adsense paid into our UK business bank account, from there we BACS transfer over our "salary", that way we only have to pay the top up tax on what ever we bring over here. It realy does work quite well. It also means that we are paying into the French health system etc - which I am sure you know is fantastic compared to UK. If you are ever thinking of relocating this way let me know and I'll help in any way I can. Got a great English/French accountant who sorts everything out;))
