It's a nice Saturday afternoon on the east coast of England, UK!...and humblebeginnings post here...

[webmasterworld.com...]

...got me to wondering "How do you relax and consider your next AdSense improvement or web site update to increase AdSense earnings etc?"

For the first couple of years I used to partake in late night beers with a good friend, also an AdSenser, however he recently moved away and this does not happen very often now, however we came up with some incredibly good but also some unbelievably stupid or impractical ideas.

These days I find walking my Siberian Husky in the countryside gives me the time to ponder those thoughts and give me enough impetus to try something new. Heck, I've enough domains to try something!

How do you get your thinking and relaxation time?

This could be interesting!

For those of you earning too much or too lazy to do anything, we know who you are...

It also means that we are paying into the French health system etc

I know we're going off topic here however I feel sure others may be interested in this.

Doesn't the E111 help at all or is that purely for emergency use etc?

Apart from the great food, wine and climate being a great bonus, what's the cost of housing like compared to the UK? Anywhere else just has to be lower!

Are you Biscay, Tarbes, Foix or Mediterranean region?

As a matter of interest, do you associate with any French AdSensers?

You're not the couple who was featured in a TV series are you? :-)

Nah, can't be, they nearly lost it all when she was pregnant!

I'll try and adress your points one at a time.
I'm sure you can get another version of the E111 that suits our needs, however, the cost of medical treatment, dentistry etc is very small, and we haven't really bothered to claim anything back.

Re the cost of housing. It has greatly jumped over the past couple of years, so if you are planning a move or buy a second home I wouldn't leave it too long. We came from Cornwall, which has seen a massive increase in property prices - above the rate for London, so we were fortunate in that we were able to sell in the UK and now do not have a Mortgage - joy! For us it was important to try and find an area that wasn't saturated with Brits - no offense intended, but we want to live in France, not a mini Britain. This was much harder to find. We started off renting a beautiful watermill in the Gers, near Bergerac - but talk about little Britain! We finally settled on a tiny village near Tarbes. Very few Brits around here, skiing is great, people are friendly etc, etc. The Med side is very expensive - and for me just far too hot in the peak of the summer. Pyrenees Atlantique is again quite expensive now - and full of Brits. So this seemed the ideal spot. This area has the most day's of sunshine a year in France, and doesn't seem to get the extremes of temperature you see elsewhere.

Don't know any French Adsensers - but would love to hear from any!

We are not the couple on TV, although the small farm we bought was on TV. Definately not pregnant - well not last time I checked! Don't think my husband would be too impressed since he's had the snip!

Are you thinking of relocating? If you are, don't just think about it - do it. My Father died quite suddenly a couple of years ago, just before he was due to retire - made me realise life is just too short. Live for today, because you just don't know what is round the corner. After he died, husband and I thought -"lets go for it", bought a boat, had fantastic time round Cornish coast, and now lets explore life on the continent. You can spend all your life saving for your retirement and not doing all the things you should have done when you had the physical ability to do it. Live for today I say...

PS how can I get a reply to appear in a shaded box?

If I spent as much time on the toilet as my husband does, I am sure I could come up with revolutionary inspiration!

Oh, that's simple - just have two (or more) toilets! Ever seen "Location, Location Location" with Kirstie & Phil?

Maybe the extra costs in builing a new toilet might be tax deducatable, or possibly the extra inspiration provided will increase adsense earnings beyond the investment?
