also, they no longer allow you to use a PO box. Now I get to have the fun of wondering how I am supposed to get my checks.

"I used a P.O. box from the very start. Has anyone been told that they must now switch from a p.o. Box to a house address? I've gotten nothing from them regarding this."

Same here. I've used a PO since signing up the account. And this is the first I've heard of any possible issue with PO boxes.

I was only asked to choose individual or business and was never once asked to change my address. I went and looked at my account info and had no "warning" or whatever there either. Hmmm, nice way to paranoia me guys ;-).

It only shows the warning when you try to edit or change your address. I just changed mine to POC ### and it gets the job done.

POC ###?

I want to sign up for the first time and I want to use a PO Box. If you try to edit or change and get the no po box rule I assume it will not allow new signups a po box either. Do you suggest POC instead of POB to confuse them and be able to use a Box number after all. :-)

All I'm hearing is ways to get around Google's requirement. I'd much rather hear WHY Google is doing this. Obviously, they have a reason that they don't want to accept a PO Box. Perhaps there are some solutions that they're missing.

Another reason I don't like using my home address: Sometimes I'm out of town for weeks at a time. I put a hold on my mail, but if someone FedEx's a check to my home address, they'll leave three notices and then return it to the sender. Before I switched all my business addresses to my PO Box, I had several checks from other companies where that happened. Even if it hasn't been returned, it's a 40 mile / 1 hour round trip to my FedEx office to pick it up. I have much better things to do with my time.

Whatever they're trying to solve by not allowing PO Boxes can probably be solved better with another solution.
