They usually arrive 3-4 days after the sent out date.
Mind you, at the current exchange rate its just as well!
1. Has anyone received their cheque for December's earnings yet and if so where in the world are they?
2. How many have received tax details (eg 1099) but no cheque yet?
3. Has anyone received tax details and December cheque?
4. Has anyone from the UK received their December cheque yet?
5. Does anyone know when Google will provide "alternative payment methods"?
You'd think Google would've saved a bit of money and sent the cheque out in the same envelope as the 1099s - anyway....
Many checks are lost or never arrived, checks get snatched and cashed by interceptors and so on. Is that what all Google supporters have to accept as the future normality with the great Google?
There have been millions of AdWords revenue generated by the folks on this board alone. The fraction that gets paid out (get me right: if it would not be perceived extremely valuable we wouldn't even care to speak up), for it to be on time and qualitatively satisfying, meaning trouble-free - would be a sign of solid business relationship that both sides rely on, wouldn't you agree?
In my case I have started generating value for you end October and sacrificed a fair share of other income because I am sold on your business model. I have not seen a dime yet.
Please dear Googlers, don't risk this fait by a screwy or incomplete business process on an other end.

1.Get Direct Deposits Going, give an ETA, Communicate with your customers. Yes publishers are AdSense’s Customers. If AdSense does not communicate better I’m sure when AdSonar is out in full force people will be jumping ship like no other. This also just makes for bad PR.
2.Ok we know AdSense sends the checks out to some company to process the checks, what should be happening is that the company holds all the checks until they are all completed. Then the day they all go out to the mail Google posts the mail sent in our accounts. Thus everyone’s check goes out at the same time. Clearly Google can tell company X it has 100,000 checks to be sent and company X can say, that will take about 5 days. Then Google can figure five days into their 30 day equation.
So,
Communicate.
Be On time.
Accuracy.
Do the right thing.
AdSense is great, but needs some customer service work.
I have not received a check yet.
I did receive my 1099.
I live in Oregon, USA.
This is the third month in a row when my check was not mailed within the 30 day time span specified in the contract.
Dito, it's going to decide the battle when all other AdSense-like offerers will try to fight for a solid publisher base...
I am in California. Is MountView in CA? may be not.
1) Date email will be sent admitting they didn't send checks on time.
2) The excuse.
3) Date checks arrive in the U.S.A. and or your country.

I vote for Direct Deposit. It would be so much easier.
I just received a check from moneybookers that was sent from New York (I'm in California) postmarked in NY on Tuesday, February 3, 2004 and I got it today, Friday, February 6, 2004.
I have confidence that the check will get here in the next few days.
However, it does look like whichever provider that Google is using did not handle the payments in a timely manner this month (at least for most US residents).

Would this not drive traffic to the form. If i was an form web site owner, i might just pop in as an Adviser for time to time. Hmm..
If the information is not verifiable, it might not be reliable.
that way i can use it to pay for stuff or transfer to my checking account.
Atleast then i won't get eft charges and won't have the possibility of google renegging on a payment and trying to pull it like other direct depost advertisers and affiliate programs have tried.
Who is AdsenseAdvisor, really?
They're a Google employee AFAIK. If you don't like AdsenseAdvisor - try GoogleGuy (another Google employee).

A lot of people have to pay to receive Paypal payments, and there are many countries where money cannot be withdrawn. OK for small amounts maybe but a couple of hundred dollars in fees on mid-4-figure amounts!
I get payments from a domain parking company in Germany. They can manage to offer worldwide bank deposits for free for all balances over 50 euros a month. They pay on the 15th of each month for the preceding month, and it's in the account within 7-10 days in most countries.
So it can be done, and is being done. There are probably even bureaus that offer the service. Note this is worldwide, not just an ACH deposit to a US account which would only help a subset of Adsense publishers.
I'm on the way to the mailbox now, glad to know I'm not the only one whose check has disappeared after two weeks in the mail. Could it be that they didn't actually issue it on the 21st as they said? There is no way this many checks could be "in the mail" without arriving.
On behalf of the AdSense team, I'd like to sincerely apologize - I know that a lot of you depend on these checks, and it's more than an inconvenience to you. The team will continue to work hard to create a robust and improved payment system moving forward.
As always, I'll take your feedback to the AdSense team.

This suggests they had to send out many multiples the number of cheques they normally send out... but I'm not convinced this isn't something they were unable to prepare for.
No, I really do like AdSense, and you just have to laugh about it sometimes.

Hope you all realize just how much interest the check provider can earn each day the checks do not go out.
Interest rates on dollars are close to zero nowadays. For the vast bulk of the Adsense checks it'll be a cent or two a day. Insignificant. Even across all accounts it's only in the hundreds of dollars a day.
I've just been told the reason some of your checks haven't arrived - unfortunately, due to our biller being overloaded with the volume of checks and 1099s, some of the checks were postmarked between February 2 and February 6...

It might also help to send a short email out to all the adsense publishers that don't read WebmasterWorld (there has to be at least 2) :)
When I received a different check (in CA) today from NY postmarked February 3rd, I knew the service provider must be running late.
How many of you are mentally screaming the words "direct deposit" now?

a) why don't Google ditch the cheque-printing company and do it in-house
and
b) set up a Paypal-like website to offer direct deposit. This could also be used by advertisers too who don't have a credit/ debit card but do have a bank account. I'm sure there are enough phDs at Google to be able to program this before the next batch of cheques are due. Even if they wanted to outsource the design etc - I'm sure Adsense Advisor could make a post on the Commercial Exchange form and ask for a quote.
Anyway.... perhaps I'm underestimating the number of advertisers/ publishers involved and how difficult the above would be to implement. Personally I think that direct bank transfer must be cheaper (in the bulk quantities Google would do it) than printing and mailing cheques. Anyway.........
